Hard to understand what this guy is saying but sounds like those scammers that send a trader offer and include a note that says if you accept trade, steam funds will be added to your account.

Yes, it's a scam. Other people cannot trade wallet funds to you. Only way to get wallet funds is to a) buy them yourself b) sell stuff on the market.

As far as I know you can't just add money from your wallet to someone else's. If this would be possible people wouldn't have used the Steam market to transfer money by putting an item up for a high price and letting the other person buy it. I am no trader so maybe I have missed something but I vote for scam.

Transfer of money = Not possible. False claim = Confirmed. Queue Suggested Actions = Delete, Block, Report.

Update: sometimes I think they talk so incoherent just to confuse you into accepting their proposed trade. Or maybe they do it so they can explain it differently once they get called out on it?

Hm, i would like to ask something that i'm struggling since days.
So, if transfering money is not possible via Steam, why there are people in group buys threads (which seems totally legit) saying things like "I will pay/receive the money through Steam wallet" How to do that then?

Thanks for any info about this :)

I guess using an item and selling it with the X price and the purchaser choose that item to pay the seller, no?
Anyway, that wouldn't be possible anymore with the new way of market they have implemented, right?

Thanks and have a nice day :)

There are still several items using the old way. If they all start using the new system, yeah then it's very risky to do it :P

Still think its possible. Lets say I put up a sell order of a cheap CS background worth 3 cents for $17. Someone can fufill the order and buy for $17 dollars and transfer that way

Umm, wait doesn't the cheapest available version of that item get sold to the highest buy order though?

Yeah but what if someone else placed another order for exactly 17$? People could add an order for every amount so it's rather risky to do it like that imo. And if what DAJ01 says is true too, then we're out of luck completely :p

Why cant valve just add a way to transfer wallet to eachother and take a cut on every transaction (hopefully less than 15%) :p

I think it's just a short way of saying "I will buy you a game/etc. with my Steam wallet and then trade it to you."

Question: When you go to add money to your Steam Wallet, does it give you a "gift code?" Something like "ABCD-ABC-ABC" (like Amazon does with gift cards). If so, then that's another way to pay with Steam Wallet.

No codes, if you pay with Paypal, for example 5 USD you will have 5 USD "converted" into the Steam wallet.

Have a nice day :)

Here is a good way of checking whether or not something is a scam: If you have to asked the question "Is it a scam" then it most likely is.
