So my friends IRL are afraid to add me on steam

mostly because of my game collection. Of course I cannot compare mine with some others' here on this site (200 sth (used to be 350) aint nothing much on steamtrades) but many of my friends are just new to steam or only bought <20-30 games on steam. When I gave them my steam id, they then made excuses like they cannot find my steam profile, they're too busy to add me. Eventually, one of them came up to me and said that my game collection is quite intimidating and he considered me as a big shot gamer who might be too big/grand for him and my friends.

I really feel conflicted abt this, the only people I actually know IRL on my steam friendlist are the people added me before my profile went from private to public. So should I go back to being private again abt the amount of games I have again 'cuz having more games than other people doesn't make me feel proud or even good at all.

Note: they are great friends, maybe the best of all but not all of them spend as much time playing games as I do. (one of them going to MIT this falls and he has only one game on steam which is Civ5)

...I don't want to add this but I'm college, not many I know have the expense to spend on games as much as I do, but still what you guys have been saying is quite insulting to my friends and even me, and I would appreciate if you stop calling my friends immature or selfish otherwise I will close this thread.

NOTE: can I blacklist everyone who talked bad about my friends even though I clearly stated that I did not feel comfortable about it at all in my next giveaway?

well, if it's a list of games with alot you didn't play I'd feel embarrased too. I don't understand your friends anyway.. are they even friends?

My best friend added me on Steam. He has 4 games. A true friend shouldn't care how many games you have. I have almost 500 (used to be 700 something).

I'm unfortunately a lot shorter than my friends so being able to go titan mode and become taller than them once in a while would be nice :3

I don't know abt him, I actually have him on my friendlist though he's not very active. He has more of a life than me and quite a popular one he is so I can't really say he does pay much attention to me.

I haven't really had that problem, probably because I have the same reputation IRL as I do online. I was literally known as the kid who played EverQuest and World of Warcraft when I was in high school

I'm going to agree with dirtySanchez here. Your friends are being silly at best. If they are intimidated by someones games collection, they'd be the type of people who'd go out and buy a big truck to compensate. Just the truth. You should close the thread, to be blunt. Your friends are silly.
