Solution: The giveaway code was added to the second image in the OP, using very dark gray text over an even darker patch of gray (both very close to black). To see it you either need a very bad TN-panel screen (viewed from an angle), or a very good 12-bit wide gamut screen (viewed in a dark room). At least two users (ACorpse and Juzer) commented in the GA that they used Paint's flood fill tool. The more common solution though is to just save the image to your disk and use a photo editing software or viewer that allows you to change the brightness and/or gamma and/or histogram control of the image. In the attached screenshot I used FastStone Viewer and changed the histogram white point from 255 to 5.

After I noticed something while looking at the image VERY closely, I simply looked at my monitor at a weird angle to read it.

Thank you for the GA and the solution. I guessed it had to be about editing the picture, but I only tried with the screen brightness :D
