Long story short: this guy expected I downloaded the pic since it didn't load on Discord file preview. Also, I should have reached Steam support on Discord as You can read beside the low quality/resolution of the preview.

Would you believe somebody contacting you and telling you she's the Queen of England? Steam support will never reach out to you on Discord.

Yeah, it's not the first time similar stuff happens to me (but this is the first one for that kind), I even got some accounts stolen due to classical data breach on some websites - nothing related to phishing itself - but I managed to get all the stuff back.

This is the most common scam on Discord ever, I get it a ton despite my account not being worth shit. They're most clueless scammers too, I managed to IP grab one of them out of curiosity, pointed to the Philippines without a VPN. Just mess with these guys whenever you encounter them is my best advice, waste their time from getting potential victims instead of ignoring.

Yeah sometimes I like to waste mine and their time, but it couldn't last forever in any case.

I've never gotten messages like these, a few from friends on Steam who had their account stolen. I'm curious about the image, why woulden't discord preview it when you click it?
I've had a couple messages about "Being form the same Minecraft server" (I've never played.) but I just block em.

Edit: watching a video about fake images.

Yes the same thing happened to me, I was sent a message by someone and asked "Is it true that I bought his item on the steam market" but I knew that it was a scam, then he sent me the same picture as you, but I still ignored it

It's not aimed to steal Discord account, but the Steam one. They use Discord due to an exploit that let You stuff like that.

I've already whitelisted You few months ago, but I can't remind the reason. Nah, I'm on internet since long enough to protect myself without those things such awarded antivirus, VPN, etc.

In the first place, the best privacy and security protection is yourself. The rest can just help.

Don't use SteamRep. I've seen profiles there that say VAC banned and when you go to the profile it's clean.

I don't rely on it for sure, It's just there.

Maybe those are old VAC bans? They aren't displayed any more after 7 years. You can still check by adding this to the profile URL: ?xml=1

These type of scammers are around for quite a while.

There's another type that will try to get your social media account by claiming to need help. They try to recover your account which sends a code to your phone, then they ask you to screen shot, or copy paste that code to them. They must be catching a lot of people out, and it must be profitable, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it.

Pack of pricks.
