I thought forget new years resolutions, but what would you wish to happen? But then it would be the usual good health, good finances so instead if you had some financial windfall what would you get?

I am running on onboard graphics (could borrow my dads geforce 1070 though), if i could choose i would be pondering first between a 1080 TI and 2080 TI but since the first are sold out, would just go straight for a 2080 TI.
For me it's (okay besides a house): https://www.alternate.nl/GIGABYTE-AORUS/GeForce-RTX-2080-Ti-Xtreme-Waterforce-11GB-grafische-kaart/html/product/1504337?lk=26375

Since you are asking about an item is it a material item? - Free energy device.
If it's something non-material - immortality.

My idea was a material item, because that can always be a "reality". (and there are so many end of the year lotteries and who knows if you win something so you could actually realize it). But some took it the other way but that's fine. :)

In this case - free energy device. It can change the world to such extent that humanity could perhaps find global peace and live among the stars.

I'd like about $650,000. This would enable me to stop working. (Without the unpleasant alternative consequences of going homeless and starving, I mean.)

Of course, any smaller amount would be invested towards this goal; I'm not picky.

That's a precise amount instead of rounding it up to a million. :p

Got a family or on your own, and how far till retirement?

Rounding it up would be greedy. I have no need for more.

I'm on my own, but I support a parent. At my current rate I'm about 15 years away from retirement, subject to the vagaries of economy of course.

Okay, if it's something material.
Enough money to start my own foundation (huge) for the purpose of giving grants to science and funding research etc.

A one-time time machine, to turn the clock back 11 months, to unmake the mistake that made me lose the love of my life. Haven't been happy since.

Switch my mobo for something more recent so I can get some DDR4 RAM + a Vive.
A small mountain of fancy christmas presents for family.
A nice fistful of cash to help ease my brothers transition into his new life in america, and ease my mums worries about bills.

I wish I could have superpowers and be an actual hero.

Or if it's something more realistic, I wish there was a fullproof way to cure dementia and depression.

Have a device to allow people to listen/be open minded before making judgments about someone else's opinion.

Not exactly the same thing, but that reminds me of the Point of View Gun from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

If it only financial gain, guess it would be about time to update my 10 year old PC.
Or if it would be greater gain maybe a trip to finally see what this traveling to other countries is all about. Or something else that would bring a bit happiness and joy to the life.

I had a job interview today. Based on how well things went, it looks like I should get a positive answer tomorrow.

I would buy new siding, so that the ceiling in the room with my computer wouldn't leak every time there's heavy rain.
