I thought forget new years resolutions, but what would you wish to happen? But then it would be the usual good health, good finances so instead if you had some financial windfall what would you get?

I am running on onboard graphics (could borrow my dads geforce 1070 though), if i could choose i would be pondering first between a 1080 TI and 2080 TI but since the first are sold out, would just go straight for a 2080 TI.
For me it's (okay besides a house): https://www.alternate.nl/GIGABYTE-AORUS/GeForce-RTX-2080-Ti-Xtreme-Waterforce-11GB-grafische-kaart/html/product/1504337?lk=26375

I'd buy that here instead: https://www.cdromland.nl/product/0/1028907/Gigabyte-GeForce-RTX-2080-TI-AORUS-WATERFORCE-EXTREME-WB-11G

Slightly cheaper, and just as reliable. Bought some stuff from that site before.

Also, I'd wish for a new top of the line gaming PC...

Hope you get one soon.

I'd wish that my back would magically get better and I wouldn't need surgery after all.
Are you listening, Santa? lol

But seriously, if I had a financial windfall, I'd be looking to have that feckin surgery yesterday. XD.

How much you need for that?

Somewhere in the region of €12,000. (neurosurgery) I'm in the process of getting approval for part funding. Once I get that, I hope to get a loan to have it done in the new year. Fingers crossed. ^^

I wish you luck. :)

We had a tv show just last week, 4 people that needed money for surgery one small kid included, 2 women with a life threatening illness and one guy in a wheelchair who wanted an exo skeleton, most needed like 100k, and the network hosted crowd funding and they wanted to see how the people would find who deserved the money more, but all 4 people gathered enough money.

Thank you!

Yeah, prices are crazy expensive in the USA. 12k is still a lot of money, but I am glad I live in Europe. I've been on a public waiting list for over a year, unable to work etc. It was this lady (total angel) that told me about the initiative where I can get it done in the UK and claim back over half if I get approved. Waiting for the approval obviously because I couldn't possibly afford it on my own.

When I go back to work, I'm making sure to have insurance and keep it up to date. I was in university for a year until summer 2017, this happened right after I finished the college year. I didn't have insurance because, you know how you think, "I'm relatively young, nothing major's going to happen between now and when I go back to work." BOOM! lol.

Always safety first ;), i was 20 and didn't had anything, now in my thirties, got diabetes, inherited heart thing (which is fine at the moment), overall unexplained not feeling right in my skin and so not feeling young anymore (and hate to imagine what it must be like even older) but in short anything like that can always happen to your health.

Is crowdfunding not something for you? Though i can imagine it must feel like a sort of begging.

Yes, most definitely. Lesson learned.

I am also in my thirties, but had survived up to now without any major health issues. I was doing a one-year post-grad course. But yeah... I guess my time had come to have something bad happen. lol.

As for crowdfunding, I couldn't. It would indeed feel very much like begging.

Since it has to be something I'd spend money on, I'd want to donate it all to various animal rescue organizations. My normal "what would you wish for" answer is for animals to no longer be abandoned or abused by their owners, so I suppose that's the closest I can get.

Plus I can always make money to better my own life in the future; they obviously don't get that opportunity.

I would like to be in front of a computer when there is nice discount for Ender 3 (3D printer). I missed recent one because I had turned off sound in phone so I didn't read notification. :___:

Heh I'll pass the offer on but I think she needs validation more than anything else right now. She's not interested in money. Enough to live on is all she needs.

And i totally understand wanting the family part hope that will happen to the both of us someday.

Hear, hear. Fingers crossed for you too, my friend.

An item ? Probably this headphone.

A16 Realiser or this RTX 2080 Ti or the Hololens.

Yeah basically an expensive piece of tech. :3

What is that thing that cost $4000?

The most innovative piece of audio tech, imo.

Basically home theater into your headphones. It reproduce the sound as if you were listening to your home cinema speakers.
I've never heard it myself so i can't speak with certainty but there's enough feedback online to prove that it actually works.

Better explained here. FYI this is the evolution of the A8 Realiser, which was already well received by audio enthusiasts back then.

A PS1. I don't have a PS1 anymore because my old one stopped working a long time ago. But I still have my all time favorite game, which is Heart of Darkness, and I can't play it anymore. I don't trust used consoles, especially if they are so old, and that's why I never bothered to buy one of those, I'd love to have a new Playstation 1, but they're so costly nowadays.
Interesting thread, btw.

I still have my original PS1, got lots of old consoles (Vectrex, NES, Sega cd, Phillips CD-I, MSX) some bought second hand (on a retro fair) i even had an arcade cabinet.
Actually alot of them old ones last longer then today's consoles, the Vectrex is like 38 years old and still running.
Sad thing is i got so much on my pc (like steam) that i just don't get around to the consoles, plus the whole wire mess.

Got a c64 mini some months ago, haven't really touched that either, if i want to hook it up to my pc monitor i have to get on my knees each time to plug and unplug it if i wanted to play on it.
There will be a ps1 mini, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have Heart of Darkness on it, i think you should be able to put your own stuff on the mini's, but then you might as well use an emulator.

And thanks. :)

Like i hoped quiting alcohol would make me feel so much better, it didn't happen either.

I got a female friend who suddenly developed these pains, as i replied to someone else here, i think it's also just often age and bad luck that you just start to develop things.

Too many fruit and you can get too much sugars in, so nothing is really healthy.
Guess you will like this song .:p Good luck in finding the cause.
