My cakeday is coming up on the 17th so I decided to spread the celebration out through the whole month instead of one day. So these giveaways will last till Sunday and a new batch will go up. So make sure to come back every Sunday this month for a new batch with a grand finale on Oct. 1 for my rl cakeday!

Charts seem to be preferred over trains now so after clicking on the gib you will find a RaChart compatible list of the rest of the giveaways.

On a side note for those of you who have wondered where I disappeared to for the last month...I have been having alot of health problems lately and went to the doctor for a bunch of testing. They discovered that my thyroid was not working correctly anymore. I had to have a sonogram of my thyroid to rule out cancer. Thankfully it is not caused by cancer! I have been officially diagnosed with hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto's disease. I look forward to this one little pill making me feel better but there is a catch...I have to go in for level testing every 6 weeks so they can adjust my dosage if needed. Did I mention the pill comes in 12 different dosage options? Oh well it could always be worse! Have a great weekend.

UPDATE
Happy Birthday to me! It has been three weeks since I started the pills. I have seen a big improvement in my energy but still not where I used to be but every bit helps when you have two kids to run after. One thing I'm really happy about is that my hair has stopped falling out and I hope that continues. The pain in my legs and feet have went from everyday to just once every 3 to 4 days now and is no where near as severe. The big downside is that this past week and a half I have experienced several dizzy spells. Dizziness can be caused by the thyroid not working correctly but is also listed as a side effect on my pills...so not sure what is causing them right now. I have three more weeks before I return to have my levels tested and can only hope for the best. Although I haven't replied to every comment rest assured that I have read them all and appreciate the shared info on experiences and well wishes. I hope you have enjoyed this month full of giveaways!

Happy Cake Day in advance Irdra and thank you for your giveaways!

I hope you'll get better soon and that your med dosage can be stabilized so that you don't have to go frequently to the Hospital. Out of my own experiences I know that health is really a precious commodity that can make unexpected turns.

Have a great weekend too. โค๏ธ

Indeed, it could always be worse. That's a healthy attitude to have.
I'm glad to hear it's nothing too serious (that cannot be corrected, at least), and glad to see you're back and feeling better.

Take good care of yourself.

I'm sorrry to hear that, Irdra.

I know a few people with thyroid problems unfortuately and getting the medication right is really tricky and if it's not then often you are either really tired or really hyper all the time.

I hope it will all work out for you.

happy early caky and be safe, i guess you know it's chronic and all that, but I think you can live with it with actual medicine.

At least you have an answer now and a path to treatment. Glad you're on the road to feeling better! Sorry for all of the upcoming doc appointments, but it's better than not having an answer. :)

Hi Irdra! My mother was diagnosed with hypothyroidism ten years ago and eventually had to have her thyroid removed. She's on a pill now, too, that replaces the function the thyroid does. It was scary at the time, but she's incredibly healthy now. It's a diagnosis that, with care like you're getting, hopefully won't affect your life too much.

I hope you feel better soon

I'm so glad that they pinpointed the cause and that it's not life-threatening! I can't tell you how upsetting it is to NOT have a diagnosis when you know that something is wrong, but the doctors have no idea...

Ah, and thanks for the gibs!

Hi Irdra.

I'm glad to hear that it looks like you're going to be okay (well, as far as okay as you can get, of course!).

I am going through some thyroid problems of my own (I don't think it is Hashimodo's though, just a hyperactive one). I need to get bloodwork done and an ultrasound when they schedule it.

I've lost 25 pounds, and I thought I was just being lucky until my dad noticed a goiter on my neck. My dad and his sister both had thyroid issues and had to get theirs removed (my dad did the radioactive iodine method rather than surgery) and have to take a pill a day just like you do. I'll more thank likely have to do that as well.

yes it sounds like you have the opposite of my problem but either way your thyroid not working is definitely not fun. When they scanned mine I was lucky enough to not have goiter issue. I wish you the best!

Welcome back! Glad to hear it isn't cancer and having to take a pill sounds like the best option available under the circumstances.
Please keep us posted and happy early cake day to you!

I am sorry to hear about your thyroid issues.
Most Hashimoto patients do very well on T4 treatment, once the right dose is found: so hang in there!
It will get better!

Some patients benefit from a little additional T3, so keep that in mind if you are not happy with the 'final' result on T4 alone.

Hope you're gonna feel better soon :D

I went to doctor "because why not". I have good hormone levels, but it turned out that my thyroid is 2x smaller than average. And has weird (non-malignant) tumor D: Heh. I'm not sick, so normally I'd never know about it.

Nothing serious, tho I may suffer from hypothyroidism later in life.

Hope you'll be feeling good as new soon!

I imagine the medication will adjust your hormone levels -- I know that can sometimes have some not-very-fun side-effects while your body adjusts to the changes and while you try to find the correct dosage. Best wishes and here's hoping you strike gold on the first try. :)

Whenever I have to take pills and it's getting to be annoying, I just try to remind myself about how amazing medical science is, and how lucky I am to be living during a time when these pills are available to me. Our ancestors would have simply suffered with no remedy. Try to make a ritual, a routine in your daily schedule that makes it easier to remember to take the pills on time. Maybe you can give yourself a small chocolate or something at pill time, to make it more rewarding and enjoyable. :)

And, finally, happy cake day and thanks for all of your generosity! :D

Yes I am very thankful for modern medicine but unfortunately my pill must be taken on an empty for at least an hour and no dairy/calcium for at least 4 hours after...I'm going to miss cereal lol.

Ughhh... sounds like no fun! But if it helps get you back to feeling normal I suppose it'll be worth it!

My wife eats cereal dry, with no milk. I think she's crazy but maybe it would be better than nothing. :P
