Surprise gifting is the best! So far I've received several random gifts, one of which was The binding of Isaac with its DLC. And I've given out a few things of my own. Giveaways are okay, but it's really nice to surprise someone with a gift that they weren't expecting. ♡

It is! :) When I received Forge, I was so confused because I thought I must have won it on here, but there was no green banner. Then I thought it might have been by mistake lol. If only I could see friends' birthdays on Steam - would love to be able to send a surprise birthday gift to people I speak to more often.

I got a friend request from someone not too long ago, and was confused about it because I hadn't gotten the little green bar of happiness on here. I went ahead and added 'em because I figure the worst that could happen is a phishing attempt or a beggar, and those are easily blocked and reported. After a bit they had sent me a copy of The Basement Collection. :D That made my day!
And I made someone very happy when I PMed them a key for Psychonauts. It was a cheap gift, but still one that brought them a lot of joy. And I'll probably give out a few more things once I find another good game to spend my Amazon GC monies on. I might just buy a few more copies of Psychonauts, or get something that is equally good.
And yeah, getting a notification of your friends' birthdays and most wanted games on Steam would be awesome.

Lol, I just guessed from your name, but it could be that you're just very lucky! :) I've been given a few keys by strangers but usually have the game already or feel bad accepting as I'm one of those people who will feel like they owe something in return. I hate that feeling.

Stacking is wonderful. I played a demo of it on my Xbox 360, and just recently bought a Steam copy. I should try to take some free time soon to play it. :)
Hmm. I could go ahead and take my name off of my profile, just in case. I'd rather people not think anything of my gender when they're interacting with me. I just want to be treated like a gamer, not a gamer with a vagina. :B
I don't feel the need to give them anything just because of a gift, though I might buy 'em a quality game somewhere down the road once I've gotten to know them and find out that they're nice.

The very same happened to me today. I was gifted QUBE when asking if I should buy it or not.
Seems that the Holiday Spirit is strong these days!
And I tried to did the same think to kind of balancing myself but the gift I bought was already owned, so it kinda backfired. I made a giveaway with it though.
