This is from the rules:

"Do not submit exploited games/keys (Dirt 3, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Multiplayer, Eets, etc)"

I guess it won't come back. You could offer it up with steam trading (the new feature) I think.

This will seem overly critical but the rules, while fair, don't seem to be deterring many otherwise inclined to break them or, I guess, claim ignorance of them.

The AMD promo is the main reason why the keys are not valid.

Thousands of DiRT 3 keys were leaked. They are valid to Steam, but they're basically "marked" for Steam to silently remove the game from your account.

this is not true... if the code was a legitimately obtained code, you can keep the game. Mine is still present, for example...

The main problem is 3 MILLION keys were leaked from the promo website

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24874063&postcount=82

Since there's no way to determine if the code is good, and the leak was of such massive proportions, it's simply prudent to exclude Dirt3 from the list.

Well, THAT'S true but there's no way to tell that you got a legitimate code from exploitations FROM amd4u (I believe it is a third party website, not AMD's) as satoru mentioned.

In my opinion never. The issue won't be resolved any time soon, like the other people said they keys for DI3T were leaked in a big proportion.

I can confirm this. The copy of DiRT 3 that was sitting in my library has now (thankfully) vanished. A lesson learned.

"but not 50% sure! maybe! perhaps! half-sure! "

I would like one.

There is no easy way to prove where a key came from being submitted. Due to the nature of the massive leak of keys, I don't think we will open the doors for Dirt 3 again.

Just create a private / group giveaway for your friends. Since the key is legit and you can provide a proof (e.g. scan of the coupon) it should be ok.

If it helps you contain your excitement, Dirt 3 is pretty bad.

Nahh, you get all the hype at first, THEN it gets boring.
