Is it me or is it impossible to get a good trade on Steamtrades? (I'm not trading here)

Usually ppl want to make profit,not an equal exchange.

Try other sites too and be patient.

It depends...if someone has bundles keys and ask for non bundle stuff, that never goes well. But there's also loads of lowballers...but also decent traders. Just have to wait.

I get a lot of good deals on that site, quite frequently.

If you buy game with 75% discount and trade it as full price.... Epic win!

Games are valued at lowest sale price. And then the price and desirability only goes down from there depending on sales elsewhere, price bugs, bundles, etc.

The only time a game will actually be valued higher than it's lowest sale price is if it has been removed from the steam store and you can't buy keys elsewhere.

That taken into consideration I don't really have much problems with "lowballers" on steamtrades or anywhere else, sure it gets bad during a promotion(The 90% off coupons for Death Rally for example) but those aren't the majority, and even the DOTA2 offers are slowly down now that more and more people know about the DOTA2Dispenser.

I especially hate people who are spamming their "offers" of Dota2/Metro 2033/CoH: ToV/The Ship on nearly every thread.

I don't know, the one trade I made was fair on both sides- $10 game previously in bundle for another $10 game previously in bundle.

well, there are some stupid guys, but I did 18 good trades there so it is good for me.

It is not impossible, I have gotten amazing deals trading on Steam trades. I began with only a 5 dollar groupees bundle and without spending any more money and just trading and retrading I ended up with over $400 worth of game trades in the last month. Alot of AAA titles as well. Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider, Spec Ops, Daksiders 2, Res Evil 5, and others. You just have to be smart about your trades and such, know the value of your games.

Also you can try selling on TF2outpost.com that is extreme lowball territory though.

Hell, I honestly don't care about price when I trade. So long as both me and the person I'm trading with get games we both want to play (or trade), I could care less about lowballs and other such nonsense.

I traded my Dota 2 items ( I dont think there was anything amazing. ) for Trine, Fireburst & Painkiller. Pretty nice trade if you ask me, but i'm a newbie when it comes to trading.

From my experience, I've found it's a matter of luck, timing and above all, patience. It's happened many times to me that somebody made an initial low offer, I refused, they raised, and so on and either I got a very good deal in the end, or more interestingly, some third guy saw what was happening and comes with a jaw-droppingly good offer that dwarfs the original bidder. Bundle games are generally a hard sell though.

You need to get patience mate, sometimes it needs a little more time. In the last month, made a huge profit in SteamTrades, it just takes time and patience as well.

Btw, your offer is a bit unbalanced (SS3 is now a bundle game). You probably won't get lucky doing that trade, just saying.

There are a lot of good trades to be made, but you have to realize that not everyone has the game you want or are interested in what you have to offer. Sometimes I had to do 2-3 trades before I got what I actually wanted out of it.

As for the offer you mentioned up there:

• Serious SAM 3: BFE has been in a bundle recently. Plus there have been coupons too. People who really wanted that game probably have it by now.
• Space Marine and Bioshock 2 were in some Amazon mega deals a few months ago but it's probably mostly gone by now. Some people also got Bioshock 2 from pre-ordering Infinite. If you're lucky you could find someone to do that trade, but most people will expect more than Serious Sam for it.
• Torchlight 2 hasn't ever been priced as low as SS3, so fat chance getting that from anyone.
