Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast

Not sure if it is like rfactor, which I've never heard of. Just one of my favourite racing games. Sadly, was removed from Steam, but PC versions can still be played

sim then.

the simbin ones(race 07 gtr evolution) are good, f1 2012 is supposed to be good. if not steam richard burns rally is an oldie but widely regarded as best in genre.

If you don't mind OLD games and you really like simulations, I have a couple you might wanna check:

• if you like Dodge's Viper, Viper Racing. You can also find a mod that majorly overhauls the game.
• if you like classic Formula 1: Grand Prix Legends. This one has a very good mod as well, including the complete Nurburgring track.

f1 2012

Dirt 2 and GRID. They're more arcade than rfactor would be ("simcade") but they're both still very immersive. Good with a controller and both support trackir if you have it.

It's not quite out yet, but I have very high expectations of Project CARS. Bunch of videos of the alpha here. It looks set to be the simulation racing title to beat.

Grab Grid. It's 3,75 at the moment.

if you want games like rfactor, try iracing, or gtr, race 07, raceroom racing experience.

ill get race injection and gtr evolution during sale
and i wait for project cars to come out next year.

if you dont mind racing games that are a mix between arcade and sim, try Shift1, Grid 1 or F1 2012

also Dirt 2 and 3 are fun.

Rally: Richard Burns' Rally. This is simply the best rally sim game, and the community released tons of mods that make it look like a brand new game.

Arcade: Burnout (personal preference for 3 and Paradise). Tons of fun to be had, many cars and bikes. The only thing I regret is the minimalistic multiplayer and the sync issues.

Timetrial: Trackmania. Get the first since it's free and there's pretty much no difference with the others.

Sim: I don't know. I just downloaded RaceRoom Racing Experience which is a F2P on Steam since it was recommended to me but didn't try it yet. I tried Grid a while back but ragequitted after a few hours because the AI was such a pain in the arse. I keep hearing about Project Cars, but it costs quite a bit and you need very high specs in order to run it smoothly.

What's with the sudden interest in racing games, out of nowhere I've been seeing lots of these threads all day :S

I recommend Split/Second, because EXPLOSIONS and cars getting wrecked! :D
Also Re-Volt. Nothing's as good as the classics. :)

FlatOut series, just not the newest one.

If you have ps3 then you must have gran turismo 5. Best racing game ever. Well until they'll release GT6, should be pretty soon. GT is the best racing sim evah :D i played it at friends and love it. Going to get PS3 for my self to be able to play mostly that game

Burnout series is pretty great, but I don't know what consoles you have.

Mario Kart series, best racing games I played.

Forza Motorsport, Need for Speed: Shift, Nascar Thunder 2004, F1 2002 (EA), F1 2011 and 2012, GRID, I enjoyed also GT Legends - check steamtrades for cheap (1-2 TF2 refined metal) keys.

TrackMania² Canyon or TrackMania² Stadium

Of course, they are not "true" racing games. Still look very fun though.

why are there recently so much threads asking about racing games o.o?

simraceway, auto club revolution, both are free, not on steam tho

F1 2012. Otherwise Grid is pretty decent.
