I could be mistaken, but isn't there a fan patch out there that pretty much eradicates most of (if not all) the bugs?

Chris Avellone(Who is working on the game, doesn't like Epic Store.

So. Maybe not?

What matters even more is that the people in charge at Paradox already made multiple statements in recent months that their games will remain available everywhere.

+1 No doubt, Khalaq, no doubt at all. Chances are good I'll have to score a new PC first, though, lol. Mine's a bit... well, there really is no good way of phrasing it. Sometimes it feels as if calling it a potato in a science fair project is too kind. :D

But Bloodlines was released after HL2.
Which was the deathknell of Troika since Valve did not allow Source games before HL2, it got pushed back due to Source leaks and then Troika got into financial issues being forced to delay release even if they ran out of money.

Now you say so, that's right, in NA they were even launched on the same date, hat's weird, somehow I remember Half-Life 2 launching on 2005. I will edit the post.

The character creation system seems interesting:

"The character creator, which players get to use twice – once at the start to define your human aspects and then a second time later in the game to flesh out your vampire – goes way beyond basic male and female models. Body type, gender pronouns, employment history and fashion can all be toyed with for a very modular build."

i have to say playing as a Thin-Blood seems like a weird/strange choice to me and depending on what type of enemies you have to face it will break the lore of the world big time and the choosing a clan thing.....

Hm. Isn't Avellone literally the only single person in this team who has any sort of experience with story-driven games and RPGs? Hardsuit Lab's only entire portfolio seems to be some dime-a-dozen copy-paste online shooters.

Sometimes that's all it takes.
Emoji Movie and Spiderman into the spider verse were made by the same team, but Spiderman had a lot more known writers. Dark Souls 2 didn't have Miyazaki, and is the worst one in the series. Sometimes having one person at the top who knows what they are doing can make their project become magical.

I have no horse in this race tbh, never played the first game, but thought it was neat it was announced. lol

Well, the newer Prey turned out to be a fine System Shock game, despite none of the team having any experience in it, so I guess this one may turn out well.

Not really, Arkane had already some experience with "free approach" elements in the previous Dishonored and Dark Messiah games. Besides, some guys indeed came from Looking Glass Studios.

I'm not that excited about Paradox being the publisher( all that DLC stuff) but there IS already a premium edition, but I don't know how much I can trust them to not release MORE dlc...

Here's one thing I just love in Bloodlines. You know, at the end of the intro, where LaCroix is talking to you? I can't hear any of his words because it's all so Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks. Guess that's my fault, sorry. :)

Well, I know what I'm giving away this weekend. Before it disappears from Steam, of course... Woohoo! :)

Make certain you get the fan patch to fix all the bloody bugs and broken quests. The game is great and there are plenty of good mods beyond the fan patch.

If anyone would understand what the fans are craving and why the originals were so appealing, it's Paradox. Just look at the writers/devs they gave the keys to.

Paradox also made Majesty 2, and if that isn't the worst interpretation of what people liked about Majesty 1, I don't know.
Not a terrible game, but these 2 really shouldn't carry the same name.
