White vs Black lists: you can only use one. which do you choose?

Whitelist! It's much friendlier.

Very easy choice, as I don't make use of my blacklist.
But I very much love the idea of making giveaways exlusively for people that I like, and those are on my WL.

Well, seeing as I have 58 people on my whitelist and only 5 on my blacklist, I think that speaks for which one I find more valuable. :)

My blacklist is empty, so easy choice 😉💙

A PURPLE list would be awesome. It wouldn't do anything, but I think purple looks great.

Seriously though, there are two points of view to have:

As a giveaway maker
Blacklist allows to control who doesn't have access to a giveaway, which can be useful for people in groups, people who make puzzles or just public giveaways.
Whitelists are pretty great to reward people who you think behave in a way you appreciate, but it requires more curation and takes longer to expand.

As a giveaway enterer (is that even a word)
Seeing in your stats the whitelist go up is always a positivity boost, and every once in a while seeing you're part of a whitelist giveaway is always a pleasant sight.
Blacklist on the other hand brings a bit of introspection and self-doubt, but I guess in a way that's quite the point ^^.

Concept
I'd say that if we follow the broad principles, having the whitelist is like assuming that everyone is bad until proven good, while having the blacklist is giving every person the benefit of the doubt.
Everyone has a different view of who deserves to be whitelisted or blacklisted.
But either way it separates people in 3 categories:
 - BAD - Person who deserves to be blacklisted
 - GOOD - Person who deserves to be whitelisted
 - NEUTRAL - Any other person
The people in NEUTRAL might be awesome, or awful people, or neither. We just don't know it yet, or haven't noticed.
So keeping one of blacklist or whitelist has to do with how you consider the NEUTRAL group.

Conclusion
Tough to say.
If I had to keep one, just for the practicality of restricting group and puzzle giveaways, I'd go with the blacklist.
Also I give the NEUTRAL group the benefit of the doubt.
That being said, I currently have no one on my blacklist, and quite a handful whitelisted.

I don't use either to be honest, but if I had to choose, I would go for whitelist for sure, I rather treat great people to something than deny meh people something

considering i barely use my whitelist its an easy choice for blacklist. My blacklist is pretty much just reserved for those who have unactivated or multiple wins so losing out on that would cause alot of annoyance. if I did whitelist it would probably be the same because well I don't want to know that my stuff won't be actually used and most of my whitelist are in the groups I do giveaways for so except from stopping like the pa rule it doesn't really change much

Whitelist for sure. (I can't promise what you requested though, you were already on my whitelist that I am starting to build up a bit. Still need to come around to doing some WL giveaways though.)

I have already chosen. I have no one in my BL, and hopefully never will. :D

Blacklist, since you can replace whitelist with a group (albeit you'd have to ask your favorite people to join) while blacklist can't really be replaced.

Whitelisting because IMHO blacklisting leads to censorship and makes people feeling bad while whitelisting makes some people happy.

Yeah, I don't use the blacklist, so I'll pick the whitelist instead.

I dont use blacklist so I choose whitelist.

Whitelist for me. I used to use the BL feature as a tracker for people who blacklisted me by counter BLing them. But while reading this discussion I realized I don't care anymore so I removed them.

The blacklist expresses bad feelings and it is often used for wrong reasons.
The whitelist expresses positive feelings and can not be misused.
The choice is quickly made.
