A group of mixed Western and Eastern developers and artists who worked on those games (and many others) are now cooperating to make a JRPG strategy game hybrid, and it's on Kickstarter! Go check it out.

There are a lot of bad JRPGs, but also a lot of good ones. I don't think any game genre is inherently bad.

Anything with Nobuo Uematsu onboard is a game I'm more than ready to play the shit out of. Very excited for this.
