Ok, I used to have a tablet running 4.2.2, there would be a gear icon and when I tap on it I can change all volume settings.

Now I have a motorola droid razr hd runninf 4.4.2 and there is no gear icon. I have to go into settings > sound.

It's getting annoying, is there any way to fix this and bring the gear back?

Doesn't the phone have volume buttons?

Anyway, a google search for "android volume widget" found a few items such as this one.

The phone does have a physical volume rocker. Except I can only change the ringtone volume, not anything else.

That's strange. Usually the volume control changes the relevant volume, so if you're watching a video or playing a game it will change that volume, and not the ring volume.

Don't know if there is an easier way to change the volume settings in 4.4.2 cause I dont have that flavor but as ET3D suggested you can use an app to do the job. I use Power Toggles and I recommend it more than enough. Very useful.

You put it on the notification area. Then when ever you want to change the volume you pull down the notifications tap the speaker icon and it will pop a window like this. You can edit what toggles the notification widget will have and in the most of the toggles you can edit the options that the toggle will have. Give it a try.
