Oh, single player will work. However, it will destroy you if you aren't used to it. Those games were made to take your money, and they didn't tone down the ports.

Actually, it seems only Mortal Kombat 2 is an offender. Tried the others, no trouble at all. MK2 on the other hand is reading my input. Bah.

The online on their new MK game doesn't hardly work for anyone either, myself included and that just came out recently and doesn't use gfwl at all. So if you can deal with either of them being offline local multiplayer only, or just playing alone go for it. The value of that game is low anyway, and has been on sale for $2.50 many times already.
