It would be very useful function on SteamTrades stie:

  • User blocking
  • Feedback ratio filter (e.g. User who is less then 95% ratio, can not write comment for my posts)
  • Feedback count filter (e.g. User who is less then 50 positive feedback, can not write comment for my posts)

I get lots of comment, which have nothing to do with trade post. These spam for me.
In most cases (85%), newbies do its.

(Sorry for my bad english.)

I think those who voted "No" they are regular spammers, abusers. Very interesting...there are many.. :)
If someone is not abusing or spamming will only benefit from this. But in no way harm.

I voted no, so I must be a spammer and abuser right?

It is not unconditional.
But i don't understand, what harm would you if this suggestion accepting??

That's a very dense way to look at things. Why create a poll if you can't accept the fact that people may have a different opinion for various reasons?

You think wrong. I voted no because this is stupid, not because I am a "spammer" or "abuser". I don't even go to steamtrades (Until now ironically cause i wanted to check it). A "block" button is something I support seeing as atm I have no way of making sure I never see the posts of known trolls and incendiaries. But elitist BS like auto-stopping anyone under a certain ratio from commenting on your posts? That's the most selfish thing I've heard all year. To state I can only "benefit" from this is closed-minded as hell.

And before you bother checking, my ratio is way above 0.95. So that's not why I oppose it.

could agree with blocking (to a certain degree) but filters are too overboard, in that way newbies will never get to any feedbak if everyone used filters like that

I think, those who are currently speak with the newbies, they are not use this filter.

Your proposal may just be counter productive as you create possible grieving actions...

Why? Please explain.

  • group of users (or bot accounts) boosting their ratio each others will just pass your filters
  • those users could fake review legit users to prevent legit comments -> new unlimited grieving to handle -> more mod workload (not infinitely expandable)

nope. can think whatever you like about me on why i said no too.

can simply ignore it, shouldn't need the site to do it for you
can simply hover and do quick math in your head
will cause issues whenever the winner needs to contact you with issues or thank you for the win, and they can't cause they don't gift

edit: oops, i was talking about these things for steamgifts.com not steamtrades.com, but still voting no.. it's laziness or problem enhancing all the same.

For example I have 23 feedback and I don't feel myself to be any less worthy than someone having 25, 30 or any arbitrary numbers, especially that feedbacks can be a result of giving 5 cards for a 0.20$ game. Blocking list may be useful, buy having a lower limit does more to lock out users than guarantee any quality, as there are quite some long-term traders who like to lowballs.

It wouldn't be good for content to stop everybody posting. I say just allow posts by people with with a sent:won ratio of 9:1 or better. Clearly you, me and AngryErpel can be trusted not to shitpost...

This morning I had a crisis, by the way. I had 3 pieces of bacon and 2 eggs in the fridge. I didn't know whether to make 2 sandwiches with not enough bacon or 1 sandwich with too much egg.

There could simply be an option to block spammers, not implement 100 new rules just to discourage new traders. -_- That's why I voted no.

or just get some actual moderation over there.

Actual? There's ZERO moderation there. xD You can't report anyone. It's the Wild West there. :P

that's what i mean, "actual moderation" vs "virtual moderation" (spam blockers). but yeah, it's crazy over there as it is.

On one hand that would go against the very principle of Steam Trades 2.0. But, a majority of the Vote on review thingys I've seen have been related to "Obvious troll alt account negative repping for revenge" or something to that effect. It's just too easy for people to make a brand new level 1 alt account, log in on Steam trades and just post whatever they want \o/

In the absence of any moderation as it is right now, I would have to hesitantly agree to some basic filtering (not necessarily from Feedback ratio, maybe from Steam level?)

Edit: I just went to vote on reviews and 1st one I see...

Brand new alt accounts can join steamgifts? I thought there was a restriction that the account must own games worth $100 in unbundled game value.

That's still the case for steamgifts. But steamtrades is new and improved.

It's different for Steam trades now, you don't need to have an SG account \o/
