That's an atrocious analogy. Murder inflicts harm on other people, and is hence disruptive to societies that strive for human rights. Whom does gay marriage harm, apart from the delicate sensibilities of Muslims and Christians? (Who are strangely not offended by people eating shrimp, or women cutting their hair short, or people wearing polyester -- all forbidden by the Bible.)

How will it become a global trend? Either you're gay or you ain't. If anything, it's heterosexual unions that are harming the human race right now, what with overpopulation.

it's not a disorder. It's just different orientation than yours. Different atribute - that's all. Let's say for example you have different eye color than mine. OMG! You have disorder, because you're not identical as me! The only way to make you right is to cure you - we shoud pick your eyes right now to cure you!

Say, that dude who escaped Sodom and Gomorrah because he was so virtuous (even more virtuous than the babies and children there, apparently). Didn't he sleep with his daughters? :D

I believe they got him drunk and slept with him. So, uh, yeah. They kinda raped their own dad. o_O

I see - two imaginary cities that fantasy book describe being destroyed. So what? Someone imagined something, wrote this in the book, and we are now supposed to deny REAL PEOPLE ther rights based on something imaginary? How is Sodom and Gomorrah destruction any different than let's say Isengard destruction? (other than LOTR is better written ofc)

Where do you live, tho? lmao Pretty much all homosexual men do not do that. Slobbering on each other like hungry dogs on a chewy bone. Dudes kiss like every other couple.

He lives in Romania, and to be honest both him (because he's concerned about other people's private lives) and the persons who call him sick (because they try to 'force' something which is not compatible with that guy's country) are in the wrong.
I also live in Romania, an orthodox country in which is believed that same-sex relationships are not normal and to be honest I believe what I was thought, but whatever someone does in his private live shouldn't (and doesn't) concern me. The only thing about gay people that annoys me are the gay parades - I don't see the need of these: they cause violence, traffic jam and some of the people (men in thong) are disgusting (and from my point of view, they really give a bad name to their "community").
PS: Regarding in-church marriage: the orthodox church is very strict; cremation and organ donation are prohibited, if you suicide, your family is not allowed to bring your body to the church and the priest will only do a graveside burial "service" etc. Gay people are one of those "outlaw" groups and by custom they are not allowed to marry in the church. If they don't want to officiate a ceremony that is against their "laws", I think it's wrong to force them to that. I am not a religious person, and to be honest I want both to be cremated and to donate my organs.

I think you don't quite understand the meaning of this word: it can also mean something that seeks quarrel. In other words, you want to fight me, not to have a civilised discussion - and I am not in for that.
For example, you assumed that my from point of view, "gay men be should not be allowed to wear thongs". Where did I say that? I said that it is disgusting and as a matter of fact illegal to wear this kind of clothes in public (with a few exceptions, ex beach). I'd have the very same reaction if there was a straight parade with topless women and men in thongs, or to get into at another level, a retired prostitutes parade with naked old ladies. Regarding your first question, I fail to understand that you don't see how these parades don't show that gay people are normal people who want to be integrated into society, but instead they are provocative in a region in which these people are already repressed.

Both HIV-1 and HIV-2 are believed to have originated in non-human primates in West-central Africa, and are believed to have transferred to humans (a process known as zoonosis) in the early 20th Century. Damn these chimpanzees! But wait, what does monkeys has to do with anything here?
oh, and also - stupid me thought, HIV as a disease hits both homo and hetero ppl alike. Thanks for enlighting me - all these hetero ppl, or drug addicts sharing needles will be happy to hear they're safe now, as long as they don't turn homo!

20% is a minority. Fuck 'em. WE HAVE DEMOCRACY - THE RULE OF MAJORITY. Those 20% spend their money on alcohol, instead of food. It's their fault.

I'm really hoping you're trolling....
I never drink, noone in my family drinks and whole money earned by my whole family goes to pay a rent, buy a food and clothes.... and nothing more.
Plus in fact there's more people who struggle to live here than have enormous amount of money.

Holy shit.. this thread is like the saddest thing I've seen on SG and I might as well use it as a blacklist filter. And I don't mind different opinions but this thread is more about shitting on other opinions and trying to be as edgy as fucking possible.
Still waiting for the moment when people will stop being interested in what other people do in their bedrooms or with whom they share their life with.

[hate]Its good, they wont breed so now they have official permit to extinct[/hate[, he he but in all seriousness - i think marriage is an old custom and it doesnt really mean anything in civilized countries ? At least in the world i am living. Oh well, this might help same sex ppl to be accepted faster so overall its a good thing (?). As a long-time libertine i couldnt care less. It usually ends the same way for me, in ejaculation, blood and fecal matter. (G. Apollinaire hype!)

It wouldn't work, they'd just say that they want to protect their national-traditional-religious-stuff and that they can treat homosexual people as they like.
I don't know if this kind of campaign wouldn't be stopped here even before it'd start by bishops and other "religious" people.

I'm really happy for you guys. Being myself straight it's not a big deal for me to get married (well, except if my gf will say No to the proposal xD), but I'm glad that you can now make an official statement about your loved ones!
Still, I don't see it happening anytime soon here in Italy. :(

Thats nice indeed, now just wait a few years for people opinions to change
anyway, i think you can see why no one made a thread about this, by now.
Too much hate around here, it saddens me that this is some of the members response to equality, and its reason enough for me to want to leave the forums

i dont even know what to tell you.
you like people based on their sexual orientation, and called yourself or heterosexuals as normal people
but still think you are not a homophobe

Where is that neglect? Let's quote you on few sentences of yours.
First you claim it's step back for a humanity.
Then you falsely claim that LGBT are responsible for coming of HIV.
Then you say Mullinx is "not normal" because of his beliefs.
You +1 comment saying "Fck all gays!!!"
You demand even topic itself to be deleted "as soon as possible", removing even the ability to discuss the matter.
You say all gays and lesbians should go to the doctor.
To person saying "I'm gay" you respond "burn in hell" and then call her a bitch
You neglect gays right to adopt or have kids.
You call LGBT supporters "brainless ppl"

Would you prefer we close this thread and open one for sexually abusive priests.

humans are driven by thought. animals are driven by mindless instinct. if anyone is animal here' it's you.
also another plain example how you're totsly not offensive and everyone else is. Someone has a different opinion than you? then they are not humans but animals.
Comment has been collapsed.
First of all - it was not me who used "animal" word in the first place? Why do you refer your comment to me then?
Second - animal can be reffered to your character and personality as well, you can say "you're such an animal", "she's real animal in bed" etc.

you talk like someone is trying to convert you to homosexuality, what exactly is your problem with this thread, in what way will this change your life?

Hey, one day, a French politician told that the homosexual marriage was opening the road to incest, to pedophilia and to infidelity. So I wrote a status on my social networks saying: "If you think that, why aren't you forbidding the heterosexual marriage?".
If you consider LGTB and supporters as animals, let me tell you that some heterosexuals are more animal than us. Oh wait, nope, they're normal for you.
OH WAIT!
I remember something. Aren't we considered as animals scientifically? Scientifically, we're animals.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo
You're an animal too. I'm an animal. Every human is an animal. So you're right, LGTB and supporters are animal. Like you are too.

Blacklisted OP for threatening people who disagree with him with BL :P
I have nothing against gay people as long as they don't try to be "in your face" about it (that means i'm not a fan of all those parades).... same with straight people really. It is your own goddamn buisness what you do in your bed i don't care, as long as you are cool to me i'll be cool to you :P

No...he said he blacklists for hate, not for sharing different opinions
Comment has been collapsed.
The thing is, gays deserve equal civil rights. Why would anyone be against that? How something like gay marriage affects YOUR life???
I'm only blacklisting hateful people, but I understand those who are doing it with people like you (who usually say things like "I have nothing against gays BUT...").
Comment has been collapsed.
Lol, you are free to blacklist whomever you wish, kiddo, but to be perfectly pedantic I said I'd blacklist people who demonstrated hatred, not merely dissent.
Actually, it's not just about what people do in their own homes, it's about what their legal rights are as a couple.
Comment has been collapsed.
And as i said as long as they aren't in your face about it i don't care and they are free to do whatever they want (as long as they don't hurt others). So it's obvious they should have all rights heterosexuall couples have.
Also i always assume people calling others kids on internet are still fighting their acne :P
99 in my nick is not year of my birth i guess that made you think i am 16 years old, and if so you are excused, if not, well...

What is really bugging me is that the US manages to legalize same-sex marriage, but Germany doesn't. Here in Germany there are very few people that actually have a problem with it, but for some reason there are to many politicians voting against it. In the US on the other hand, there are (at least that's how it seems to me) a lot more homophobic families than here, but thankfully the politicians are much more open then the German ones.
Comment has been collapsed.
same here in poland. Heck we didn't even had a bill for "marriages" per se but for "partnerships" - just to allow basic things for ppl who live together and share their lives. Things like inheriting from someone you spent your whole life with, ability to visit the person in hospital or for medical decissions, which only family members can do or to pay taxes as a couple. Just such a basic things. No mention of marriage, no mention of adoption or having custody over kids etc. Still majority of deputies voted against :/
Comment has been collapsed.
Wow, that sounds really bad. Here in Germany, homosexual couples at least have some rights, but there still far away from equality. I hope that the US legalizing same-sex marriage will have a huge impact on other countries aswell.
Comment has been collapsed.
Only thing that USA court decision will make here will be "we don't want to have this western, gender propaganda here!!" xD
It's always like this, anything that involves giving homosexuals any rights is just "western propaganda" most of the time
Comment has been collapsed.
That's making it all a lot more complicated. Though, while Poland won't be the next country, we can all hope for a wave of countries legalizing same-sex marriage. Maybe, if enough countries start to change, it might also reach countries which usually see it as western propaganda...

Ultimately economics plays a factor; there are many reasons why it will aid the economy (Note I don't necessarily endorse Fortune magazine, just happened to be the most recent link)
Comment has been collapsed.
I never thought about it like that, but that actually might be have been one of the most important reason why politicians have decided that way. Though, even if it is completely wrong to only legalize it because of the economy, the outcome is the same.

I was sort of surprised not to see any threads about this already but as a straight male ally, congratulations to all the people in the USA who are now able to legally
tie that ball-and-chain around their anklebe with the person they love. Yeah, that.If people intend to spread hate then they will probably end up blacklisted.
Apparently I need to clarify this for some people. Dissenting opinions do not equate hate, I meant inflammatory or derogatory posts. I think I've only blacklisted one person so far, although some of you may already be on my list. (Written about 3 hours after I originally posted this.)
