Steam - BO2 Question

Hey everyone, i have a quick question about steam and how their handle the platform migration. So, if i would buy "Borderlands 2 GOTY Steam Mac key" will it only aviable on mac or can i play it on pc aswell?. I read times ago something about buy one game once to play it on mac, pc and linux if it's aviable?. Thanks for the time, love you all <3
