The extra 2GB video RAM will significantly boost longevity of the card for a (fairly) insignificant price increase.

Edit: Not to mention boost performance on every game, also.

A little future proofing never hurts, I'd personally go for the 4GB version ;)

Those 2GB extra will help you with higher resolutions plus Anisotropic & AA filter

2gb for 1080p , higher for multi screens, otherwise it's a utter waste of money.

More ram won't lengthen the longevity of the card, lol.

TBH, radeon has become pretty good, in the long run maybe you should just buy a radeon card.

with all the new consoles nvidia will have a hard time keeping up this time because we may see console ports being more efficient because they use the same card on their graphics(brand), from a Nvidia user like me I'll also probably switch maybe when the 8000 series get released.

Plus AMD's promotions on games are ridiculous.

512 MB is enough for 1080p without anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering. 1 GB is enough for 1080p with moderate anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering. 2 GB is for large monitors with resolutions of 2560 x 1440 and up or Grand Theft Auto IV with maximum textures enabled or The Elder Scrolls Skyrim with ultra HD textures.

4 GB to 6 GB is for preparation of the next-gen console ports. Playstation 4 and Xbox One have 8 GB unified RAM, assuming the OS and system use 2 GB of RAM, there is 6 GB that can be allocated to the graphics processor. Sony does expect their developers to fully utilize all 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM since the upgrade from 4 GB to 8 GB GDDR5 RAM costed 100 USD. However, the number of years it will take developers to fully utilize all 8 GB of RAM is uncertain

If I can warn you - do not buy Palit cards - they are poor in build quality. Almost all that I used in various rigs broke down. Try to look for non-reference ASUS, GIGABYTE or MSI cards.
