Hello! I've created a little retro platformer game and with the help of friendly SG community managed to polish it and release it on Steam back in late 2016. Since then, I've held two of these "marathon" events (inspired by some comments in Keo's giveaway) in order for all of us to have fun and at the same time to give back to SG members who supported the game by giving them the chance to win some nice prizes. You can check out spring (3 participants, won DE: Mankind Devided, Dishonored 2 and DOOM) and summer marathon (7 participants won Quantum Break, Dark Souls III, Rise of Tomb Raider , TWD: A New Frontier and many other nice games) if you want more info, to read previous hints, tips, and so on.
Welcome to the back to school marathon, even if you're not going back to school! I am, because I'm a teacher so... yeah. Anyway, time for another event (actually, planned time is September and October, but I'll be very busy when September comes so let's start a bit early, I hope you don't mind) and this time I'll try to make it much easier to participate, specially for shy people who don't like recording YouTube videos. Also, I wanted to make things a bit more interesting so tasks will be more unique and not connected to a train. I'll give you three quests, and each player can go and solve them in their own pace. That's it.
In order to participate you have to be a nice and well behaved member of SteamGifts community. You need a free Steam account which you already have otherwise you wouldn't be a member of the community here. And you need to have the game called Goblin and Coins in order to be able to perform tasks required and fulfill the quests given by the NPC... that would be me.
Optional: In order to record gameplay videos and post them to YouTube you'll additionally need some a software specialized for recording (like Fraps, OBS or Xsplit) or a hardware capability implemented in your GPU and drivers (GeFofce Experience or AMD GamingEvolved). You can also search the internet to get help with this or ask in the comments.
Optional: In order to cook you might need a stove, some pans, electricity... In order to take photos you'll need a digital camera or a smartphone or anything else that can take photos and transfer them to PC or submit them online.
For people recording videos:

Well. Here you have full playthrough with over 400 coins :P
Achievements here. Yes.
And well. I'll probably make beansoup later on. Yes.
Also for those who missed it...
Great song :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OW79CzeVVE This is both casual playthrough and 400 coins collected :3 http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198120965507/stats/551580/?tab=achievements
I like that it runs until October 20. That gives me a chance to finalize my move and get settled, then get to some platforming, I own the two games listed, but honestly, I don't mind doing this simply for the challenge itself.
I like the idea of letting people make the recipes from the game. It gives people who are shy, or don't have the equipment a chance to participate. :)
For the next event you should have people come up with their own recipes and make those. Then pick a winner and make/eat their recipe! (don't forget to film the whole thing)
To make it even more fun, the worst would have to make and eat their own muahaha!
I like it, it's a great idea! There's a sub-forum in the steam community for recipes from day one, so it's perfect.
Oh look, I actually retroactively qualify for one of the giveaways. I've beaten the game with 300+ coins.
Don't have the game and can't run the rewards ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Enjoy the freebies in reply #1?
Not really my jam, but I still felt the topic and the idea worth a bump. (Cook Serve Delicious is super awesome, but I already bought 2 or 3 copies of it ^^ )
Thanks for the bump :) I'll add more daily/private giveaways later, so check it out in a few days again.
Interesting task 2 :D
Hope I fix this recording problem I have, would like to enter MGS giveaway.
Yay, done the first task a while ago. Proof :)
And you're one cooking adventure away from #2 too ;)
Oh, gee, cooking, don't have a lot of experience with that, but gotta gain it sooner or later. I'll see if I manage to arrange that, haha.
Goblin & Bumps! :)
I absolutely refuse to bump this thread :)
Too many beans my dear little goblin.
Castle Bread coming this weekend!
thanks a lot for all GAs!
Or uhhh... How do you spell it again?
Castle Bread done!
Nice. :) It's usually eaten with Sauerkraut so if you have some, try that combo - cabbage is very salty in that form.
Bump ! Thanks =)
Bump for "I'm gonna do the cooking task and only then can I say that I'm participating... Soon™.".
Uuuummm, ops... Ok... I totally forgot... Sorry... :/
Well, since I said I'd do the cooking task, I'll refrain from participating with only the achievement task. Doesn't feel right.
You still have until the end of 20th, so... almost 48 hrs.
Needs a bump! I might try cooking or coin collecting, as mentioned. :P
Oh, hey, I guess I really should use this as an incentive to properly play it... Hm...Comment during gameplay? As in, actually talk? Argh, I don't want people to hear me PointsToNickname
I feel like doing it right now, but I'm not sure my employer will like me installing steam here... But I could probably sell it as research :)
