Deus Ex 1 has an outstanding story, Metal Gear Solid series too (if you have a Playstation 1/2/3).

Half Life series = Really interesting and fun to play.
Bioshock 1 = Amazing game with a nice story.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (Shadow of Chernobyl + Call of Pripyat) = Perfect gameplay, has lots of mods for enchancing it and the story is fantastic.

Or get an Indie Bundle. HiB4 is a nice one.

well i have all the good bundles all and i have skyrim :D about dead space dunno i have playd the 2th one but the 1 one dont think so.
Dead island dosnet have too good of a stroy and i have playd it so nah :D.ell i know MGS and i have playd 3 one adn i know the rest of the game storys pretty good i liked the 3 and 4 the most :D . Half life is kidna not my type i playd it out one time and thast it .Bioshock maybe

It has possibly the best story in a game. It is not like deus ex though in repsect to the story / gameplay and you may find it old.
