GMG's Top 11 Games you must play before you die.

I've played Skyrim, but not completed it. This deal doesn't seem to include any of the DLC (it is not the Legendary edition), and is the same price as Skyrim was on the summer sale a couple months ago. I have $6 on gmg using playfire. Keep it, or buy?

(Also, lol at Oblivion being rated higher).

I wouldn't buy it. If you decide at any point later on that you want to get the DLCs, you will basically have to buy Legendary Edition anyway. The price for the DLC's alone is just too high.

Its too bad they didn't put the GOTY Deluxe version of Oblivion on sale. I probably would've grabbed it, in case I ever went back to finish it with mods.

As for Skyrim, I don't know. I'm playing it on 360 and I feel like I'm kind of burnt out on it (happened once before, and happened on Oblivion). I just don't feel like I make any progress in the game, which is really because there's just so much content. It can be a good problem to have, but 100 hours of playing any game is usually enough for me to get tired of it, regardless of how much remains.

Perhaps I'll finish some shorter games and circle back to it again.

Long story short.

Vanilla Skyrim is a terrible game riddled with bugs.

If you're going to play it- mod it. Mod it good, mod it HARD.
Get ALL the unofficial patches, get some gameplay tweaks, get some texture mods, be ready to put in a couple of hours looking up mods and compatibility patches/tweaks, and finally testing the game for CTDs.

Only then is the game really worth the time and effort.

If you disagree with me, fine, thats your opinion.

LOL (:P). Although, I agree with the Unofficial Patches. These are highly recommended for the vanilla and Legendary editions. They fix hundreds of script errors, bugs and more.

This is just not true.Vanila skyrim and Legendary skyrim have no difference, all the updates are for both versions. The only difference is the DLC.

"Vanilla" means unmodded. It has nothing to do with DLC.

Bear was saying, if you have Skyrim, MOD IT (at the very least, to fix the many many bugs).

imho, don't get vanilla -- not because of any bugs or lack of fun (150+ hours on non-modded vanilla here -- no major bugs that I recall), but because of the asinine way Bethesda prices their DLCs, even during sales -- it's always a better deal to get the complete version, rather than buy things piecemeal (i.e. they always price the total collection of DLC higher than the cost of getting the complete pack). This isn't really a bad thing, but it always feels like you wasted your money buying the non-DLC version since you'll get a copy of vanilla in the complete pack anyway.

Ugh, Brothers: Tale of 2 sons is on that list. So overrated.

Other than that, the list is fine. I haven't played through skyrim, but it's on my list of games to finish. All I know is that it needs mods to enrich the experience, since vanilla is lacking.

Don't bother. Save your credits and money for the Legendary Edition. The game's DLCs are waaaayy expensive.

The real DLC with Skyrim is the mod community, which is astonishing. Skyrim Nexus is the place to be. The pay DLC is pretty much an irrelevance by comparison.

If you plan on getting DLCs for Skyrim at any point in the future, just wait for Steam Sales. I bought the Legendary edition for <$14 during Summer Sales even though I've already own vanilla. Sure learned my lesson, nowadays I only buy complete games instead of just base games.

As for whether Skyrim DLCs are worth it? Yes they are! New maps, new dungeons, new monsters, new weapons etc. Also some mods might require DLCs as well.

As with every other game, if you want to play it now then purchase it. If you can wait, then wait for the next sale.

I personally didn't like Skyrim as much as I enjoyed Morrowind.

I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just that I wouldn't buy it.
