The original game hasn't increased at all. People don't seem to understand this: they are just releasing new games and putting into a package. They are nice enough to provide those for free for previous owners.

The problem is that the original game with its original price wasn't available until now.
It also didn't help that until just a few months back they never discounted it more than %20 off a $25 price tag, which by Steam standards seemed like something extremely small (I know it was still $5 I could spend anywhere else, but perception matters).
