"Hi everyone! Andréas from Bitwave here.
As you may have heard, the iconic 'All Your Base Are Belong To Us' scene is not in this version of Zero Wing.
However, we are bringing it to the game via a patch soon for free.
It will be a reimagined version with all the classic dialogue we cherish and love but with an updated art style.
Thank you for your patience!"

what the fuck is that price?

i hope that is a mistake and it was meant to say 2.99

didn't know what you were talking about but looking at the forum again it's clear now. makes some sense, kinda like not fucking over kickstarter backers after release and such, but the general public won't pay this much and collectors will want the actual cartridges. oh well, it's their money (or not), with timed levels and without undo I wouldn't bother anymore anyway.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/346850/Chips_Challenge_1/ Can't go wrong with it to try that. ;)
It's been ages since i played it, i think i finished it though and that it isn't chess mind like hard (if games are too difficult i'd usually fail and look up solutions).
I always liked the publisher bringing out old games, but lately they seem to be testing the field by increasing it's prices, like every extra computer is a reason to ask extra money, shame they also didn't make 1 frontend perhaps like atari has, much easier to find them back.
Not to mention even some games are/were broken (impossible mission 2 i believe wouldn't even start) and not including all the sport games, while others can.

Glad i have these (and a C64 Mini and Maxi). :)

I know about the free version on steam, but as I said, with a timer and no undo it's a non-starter these days. loved it as a kid though.
I still have a couple of original c64s and of course thousands of games for emulators as well, no need for those replicas. I'd still buy them as collectibles if I had more money (and room).

another wtf release. looks like zoom is also in the retro business, keep them coming.

Seems i missed Hardwar, they got Dragon's Lore 2 too as an exclusive (Part 1 is on GOG which i provided to them).
I asked them if it could come to Steam too, but they told me to ask on discord (which i haven't done yet) but if there are 2 games already i think the chance might be big.

the price isn't as crazy as chip's challenge but still steep enough.

good stuff but not at this price.

Until now PixelGames just make 10% off at release then never a sale again.

You are right, damn.
But not so much about more versions costing more, i mean it seems they increased the prices of pretty much all their old games.

SteamDB lowest recorded price is 1,43€ at -10% Last on 21 July 2022 Now 4 euro..

I think it's a move that many publishers have made due to inflation causing price increases. Some are going overboard, yeah...

It's a normal step. More Versions higher prices.
It's still okay for 4 versions. Incl Amiga

I disagree that it's simply okay because it has an extra version, but to each their own.
Everyone's pockets are also different offcourse, i mean it's not like they are remastering and do much work to it, they just slap on a rom with an emu probably and that's it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure it is a Emulation and few options like their other games, but I like it to have it on Steam and official way.
Original versions cost mostly to much and yeah you can download roms like every game, but yeah it's cool to have it via the official way.
Achivements or some improvements would be cool, but just 2-6€ per game with few versions are fine.

dark legions is pretty cool, not sure why it took so long, even the excellent stronghold (both from ssi) surfaced faster and nobody but me remembers that.

released on steam last summer but I totally missed it. before that it was only available on gamersgate. there was a free re-release by the developer a few years ago, included the mission disk as well, but only in russian. the steam version is the original base game only. and still no paradise cracked.

This thread is for all new retros, these added in the future on Steam. (feed) It's a reboot thead, because the last one incl. my retro group mention (sometimes with curator) and less Giveaways. (It was closed, so I hope this is now okay as source for original retros from 19xx to 2006) Remaster with the same game content are allowed, but no remakes. (You can mention it, but it don't count as "retro" in group or "counter" :D)
Enjoy
