https://steamdb.info/app/3484360/ - Interactive Sex - Incest Daughters
https://steamdb.info/app/3395190/ - Sex Adventures - Incest Family - Episode 1
https://steamdb.info/app/3095940/ - Incest
https://steamdb.info/app/2118600/ - Prison
https://steamdb.info/app/3134610/ - Slave Of The Police Officer

Однако присмотревшись к тем событиям я заметил ещё что фетишей которые могут пострадать в разы больше. В их число точно входит "Non-consensual sex" и скорее всего "Guro".
Примеры подтверждающие теорию:
https://steamdb.info/app/3521860/ - Wolf on Rail
https://steamdb.info/app/1573060/ - NejicomiSimulator Vol.1 (Gapping, Amputee sex slave, Petrify, Time Stop)

Сегодня же пострадали не треш игры:
Задели издателя WASABI entertainment и в его случае не помогло то что 18+ контент он выкладывал отдельно в форме бесплатного DLC. Примеры:
https://steamdb.info/app/1056050/ - LONGING RING OF ESCA
https://steamdb.info/app/1997130/ - Paze Knight Ellen and the Dungeon town Sodom
https://steamdb.info/app/3130080/ - Prison Break Princess
https://steamdb.info/app/1964670/ - Succubus in Wonderland

Также сильно пострадал издатель оверпрайс новелл PRODUCTION PENCIL примеры:
https://steamdb.info/app/2101460/ - Cuckold Princess
https://steamdb.info/app/2522560/ - Sister X Slaves
https://steamdb.info/app/3078910/ - Sisters Z Hypnosis
https://steamdb.info/app/2744350/ - Tutor X Hypnosis 2

Пострадал издатель Dieselmine. Примеры:
https://steamdb.info/app/2862430/ - Brainwashing with Tentacles R
https://steamdb.info/app/3038870/ - Fallen Princess Knight
https://steamdb.info/app/2409130/ - Heavenly Badonkers Angel ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Видна тенденция в которой скорее всего пострадают все метроидвании / экшен РПГ. Примеры:
https://steamdb.info/app/1322310/ - Guilty Hell: White Goddess and the City of Zombies
https://steamdb.info/app/2082810/ - MAGICAL ANGEL FAIRY PRINCESS
https://steamdb.info/app/2151480/ - SusRitual

https://steamdb.info/app/2579580/ - Sakaza village's indecent festival, defiled shrine maiden sisters

Интересный экземпляр. Игра плохая и плакать о ней никто не будет, но на её примере видно что банит игры не слепой алгоритм, так как в названии нет намёка на забаненные фетиши, но он затрагиваются в самом геймплее.

An attempt to understand censorship in steam due to the requirements of payment operators

Ladies and gentlemen, you and I may have noticed and have seen the news about the removal of a number of niche games from Steam that had overly provocative titles and were generally dedicated to the fetishes of "Incest" and "Slave". Examples confirming the news:
https://steamdb.info/app/3484360/ - Interactive Sex - Incest Daughters
https://steamdb.info/app/3395190/ - Sex Adventures - Incest Family - Episode 1
https://steamdb.info/app/3095940/ - Incest
https://steamdb.info/app/2118600/ - Prison
https://steamdb.info/app/3134610/ - Slave Of The Police Officer

However, having looked closely at those events, I also noticed that there are many more fetishes that can suffer. These definitely include "Non-consensual sex" and most likely "Guro".
Examples confirming the theory:
https://steamdb.info/app/3521860/ - Wolf on Rail
https://steamdb.info/app/1573060/ - NejicomiSimulator Vol.1 (Gapping, Amputee sex slave, Petrify, Time Stop)

Today, it was not trash games that suffered:
The publisher WASABI entertainment was affected and in his case, it did not help that he posted 18+ content separately in the form of free DLC. Examples:
https://steamdb.info/app/1056050/ - LONGING RING OF ESCA
https://steamdb.info/app/1997130/ - Paze Knight Ellen and the Dungeon town Sodom
https://steamdb.info/app/3130080/ - Prison Break Princess
https://steamdb.info/app/1964670/ - Succubus in Wonderland

The publisher of overpriced novels PRODUCTION PENCIL also suffered greatly examples:
https://steamdb.info/app/2101460/ - Cuckold Princess
https://steamdb.info/app/2522560/ - Sister X Slaves
https://steamdb.info/app/3078910/ - Sisters Z Hypnosis
https://steamdb.info/app/2744350/ - Tutor X Hypnosis 2

Publisher Dieselmine suffered. Examples:
https://steamdb.info/app/2862430/ - Brainwashing with Tentacles R
https://steamdb.info/app/3038870/ - Fallen Princess Knight
https://steamdb.info/app/2409130/ - Heavenly Badonkers Angel ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

A trend is visible in which most likely all metroidvanias / action RPGs will suffer. Examples:
https://steamdb.info/app/1322310/ - Guilty Hell: White Goddess and the City of Zombies
https://steamdb.info/app/2082810/ - MAGICAL ANGEL FAIRY PRINCESS
https://steamdb.info/app/2151480/ - SusRitual

What I'm getting at. If suddenly you have games on your wishlist that you want to buy and they feature the same or similar fetishes and you really want to have them in your library, then I think you shouldn't put off buying these games.

We can't influence the situation, so there's no need to worry too much. Remember that you don't have to buy the game on Steam to complete it... You can find it completely by accident on the Internet!

Victims 07/18/2025:
A relatively weak and unknown to me publisher of F&C novels.
https://steamdb.info/app/2725150/ - NTR with hypnosis application
https://steamdb.info/app/2473050/ - Sexual punishment for married girl who shoplifts
https://steamdb.info/app/2579580/ - Sakaza village's indecent festival, defiled shrine maiden sisters

An interesting example. The game is bad and no one will cry about it, but its example shows that it is not a blind algorithm that bans games, since the title does not hint at banned fetishes, but they are touched upon in the gameplay itself.
https://steamdb.info/app/3176300/ - Newlywed female teacher Miri

It is precisely recorded that the word hypnosis became a trigger for the ban
https://steamdb.info/app/2418550/ - My Hypnotized Family [Episode 1]

It is confirmed that even if you do not have the word incest in your title, but there is a reference to family members, then you are also at risk
https://steamdb.info/app/3541280/ - Isekai Mom Stories

Publisher 072 - First Victim
Train Capacity 300% - https://steamdb.info/app/2441570/

An innocent indie developer suffered
https://steamdb.info/app/2645820/ - Back to the Fooker: Zombie Fooker 2

Publisher Playmeow, ACG creator also suffered from censorship for the first time
https://steamdb.info/app/3122890/ - Dark Dominance Chain Control
https://steamdb.info/app/1778320/ - Harem of Nurses
https://steamdb.info/app/1994070/ - Slave Doll

Insults are an easy way out when you are wrong. Other people are simply better educated and use arguments instead if insults.

You literally said that Steam was doing "incorrect moderation" and just received a "notification" instead of being forced by payment processors, as they have literally said im a written statement.

When itch.io literally delisted EVERY SINGLE NSFW GAME were they doing because they received a "notification" instead of literally saying they were being forced, as they said in a statement?

Literally, you seem to think that there is some kind of conspiracy and steam and itch are lying? Why would yiu even think that?

Now you can get angry and start throwing insults if you are displeased.

I have tried many times to write long walls of texts. A mistake! It's better to create a conspiracy (steam and itch lied. They were not threatened! It's a conspiracy! They lied!) and throw insults to the ones that disagree

I will try from now on to use a thousand insults. Thanks for the idea.

It's an Australian feminist organization who bragged they removed GTA5 from stores and so many other crazy shit it's even hard to describe
So yes, the games are trash. But someone else might like them and its their problem. These people want to ban fiction like Fifty Shades all the way to banning porn, rap or lingerie ads. The payment processors are just the path they got to their objective.

This was what I feared would happen next, that they'd widen their target to all NSFW games under the sun, now it's just a matter of time for them to go after any LGBT+ content and who knows what's next, that goalpost's gonna keep getting moved.

Given that this was achieved by an advocate group essentially shouting at payment processors until they complied I think in the short term the only available response is to make some serious noise to send the message that this isn't ok, and maybe we as gamers (I hate using that term that way because it sounds so hivemind-y) should start considering making some sort of counter-movement or something. I never thought I was going to be siding with the porn industry in a matter related to morality but we're living in such a fucked up world that this is the position that makes the most sense, what a dystopia.

Tbf one was Steam, the other is an indie game platform where anybody can upload games and likely has little to no oversight. In itch.io's case if I remember well it was a preventative step, to build a system of self-declaration of adult content and the type of it.

This is just thought policing. Fiction is imagination. Banning imagination means there must be consequences for thinking the wrong thoughts. Making it unsellable in major stores is just the first step. What will they do with those that share it for free? These illegal thoughts? Will they be fined? Force to pay for having bad thoughts? Jailed? Jailed for having bad thoughts? Disallowed imagination? I weep for the West. Attacked at all angles by all sides. There is no refuge for someone who wants to enjoy fiction and all of its treasures.

not even remotely what happened. if a private business doesnt want to be associated with it then they wont. the audacity to think you can make them, purely just because "uh well it's not real so there's no issue" is frankly insane

and another one to steam while you're at it

This alone proves that you didn't even care to understand the situation. Steam doesn't do, or did shit. It just bows down in front of the payment processors who internally decide, what is okay or isn't. There is no need to compete with it, it's not even a player in this situation.

This will be all fun and cackling when the payment processors will change their standing on what is acceptable or not. Not like the US is deporting citizens without due process, and had an indiscriminate purge of "DEI" content on government websites, including historical documents, that only included people of colour and LGBTQ people. I genuinely wonder if corporate has any mechanism to stop the next purital CEO to just basically ban adult content worldwide because of the monopolistic reach, or some similar fun change.

and why do you think steam "bows down"? because they are acting out of their own interest, which is having payment processors as opposed to not having them lmao.

And how this supports or explains your statement, that one should make a competitor to Steam exactly?

comparing this to anything related to US politics is intellectual dishonesty

I did not compare it to the US politics, do you even read stuff you reply to with the intent to understand it? Your replies don't convince me about it, as I was clearly writing in future tense about the possible changes. I can try shorter sentences.

What the US politics has to do with this because both corporations has their centre in the US (Paypal is in California, Mastercard is in New York), and they are subject to the US law, and the government currently is unlawfully aggressive to some groups of people, and ignore their rights. Either of sympathy, or because of a law change in the future, it's not impossible that the fascist ideology of the government will seep into law, as it happened with pre-WW2 Germany and Italy. Then into the payment processors' list of unacceptable content, which blocks basically all money transfer related to it, basically makes it a worldwide "unofficial ban". It's absolutely on the table, if you look at history, and the current path of the States.

I was clearly writing in future tense about the possible changes.

Weird that you left out the part of my sentence to make it like I made an error.
Let's make this into a learning opportunity about elementary school grammar.

"This will be all fun and cackling when the payment processors will change their standing on what is acceptable or not."
The word "will" makes this sentence future tense, simple future in fact. Please note that this fits my original claim that I wrote about the future changes in future tense.

The next sentence may be too long, but let's try.

"Not like the US is deporting citizens without due process, and had an indiscriminate purge of "DEI" content on government websites, including historical documents, that only included people of colour and LGBTQ people"

The first half has "the US is deporting" which makes it present continuous. Not future.

The second part of the sentence has "and had an indiscriminate purge of "DEI" content on government websites" where the "had" is the past form of the verb "to have", as it is in past tense, but in retrospect I should have used past perfect, as it still has its effects in the present.

Please note that these are not future changes, but already ongoing events, or events that happened in the past.
-Unmarked ICE units taking people off the streets and from restaurants, no due process, technically can't, and don't want to prove that they are illegal immigrants.
-About the indiscriminate purge ("of "DEI" content on government websites", that you conveniently left out from your quote, again, weirdly convenient to twist it) is about the Musk-era cleaning where likely using IA they cleaned articles off - among others - of the Pentagon's site. Including war heroes and small historical events like the dropping of the atomic bombs, because the Enola Gay plane had gay in the name, refences to the first Black military pilots, or removing pictures because who made the picture had the name of Gay. You'll find these informations in the following articles, that you no doubt will not read.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/03/07/enola-gay-aircraft-and-other-historic-items-inaccurately-targeted-under-pentagons-anti-dei-purge/
https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/war-heroes-gay-plane-images-flagged-removal-pentagons-dei-purge-rcna195344

You clearly have trouble reading and understanding text, and argue in bad faith and has the style of a brat when it comes to communication.

In the light of this, I have no expectations of you understanding the situation of the topic you're commenting in, as you clearly don't want to read / have issues with understanding even individual sentences, and no grasp on elementary school level grammar. Have a nice weekend.

This bill places restrictions on certain banks, credit unions, and payment card networks if they refuse to do business with a person who complies with the law. Restrictions include prohibiting the use of electronic funds transfer systems and lending programs, termination of an institution's depository insurance, and specified civil penalties.

Banks and other specified financial institutions are allowed to deny financial services to a person only if the denial is justified by a documented failure of that person to meet quantitative, impartial, risk-based standards established in advance by the institution. This justification may not be based upon reputational risks to the institution.

The bill establishes the right for a person to bring a civil action for a violation of this bill.

so in other words it doesn't apply to cases where a company voluntarily accepts restricting its own services (steam removing games) to comply with payment provider requests

It's also pretty rare for laws to pass that actually restrict corporations in any meaningful ways. Although with the MAGA civil war going on, who knows? Anything can happen. Often, laws are proposed when a legislator needs to show the people they're representing that they're doing something, even though they know it won't pass.

Whataboutisms have already been explained to you and aren't a functional basis for debate. It's also worth asking if for you, GTA is a murder simulator or if it's something that happens within the context of other things in the game. Because it seems like you think of GTA as strictly a murder simulator.

And, you're also wrong in your assertion that fiction can't shape reality. Whether violence in games impact the majority is debatable, but they can factually have an impact. Not wanting to accept that they're a factor is on you, not us. You very well may be such a person that this would apply to. Certainly, you have exhibited a higher than normal level of aggression on this thread.

https://www.center4research.org/violent-video-games-can-increase-aggression/#:~:text=The%20American%20Psychological%20Association%20(APA,linked%20to%20criminality%20or%20delinquency.

In the case of rape/incest/pedo games however, they only exist because there is a subset of humanity who find those acts sexually exciting. And anybody excited by rape/incest/pedophilia has an emotional attachment to said acts. Making each and every one of them a candidate to attempt them in real life. If they haven't already. This has also already been explained to you.

That's not what a whataboutism is. It is absolutely not debatable since everybody already knows there is no link between a violent video game and somebody shooting up a school. There is no difference between the two since sexual pleasure and pleasure from entertainment use the same parts of the brain.

People will not go out and murder because they played a violent game or watched a movie. People will not go out and rape because they played a shitty porn game.

Like I said you don't know what whataboutism means. But if you really want it broken down: There's no actual study since there's no sample size listed on it. Not to mention it also says "recommends that further research must be done "

Also there was nothing fallacious and there is no difference since you also never tried to argue against the brain argument.

since you also never tried to argue against the brain argument.

You know, it's not an argument without evidence. It's just something you claimed a second time without giving sources and it won't make it more true a second time.
It's also a thing you constantly do, even when your claims where refuted before, it's like playing chess with a pigeon.

I once again asked AI and it disagrees with you again:

While sexual pleasure and pleasure from entertainment both activate the brain's reward system, specifically the ventral tegmental area (VTA), nucleus accumbens, and prefrontal cortex, they are not identical and involve different neural pathways and brain structures. Sexual pleasure is also linked to the hypothalamus and limbic system, which play a role in motivation and emotional responses.

And the answer links again to 3 relevant articles about neuroscience, which the answer is based on, but i guess you come rambling again, how shit AI is and your pure assertion holds more truth. Delusional

Your interpretation is complete bs. First and most of all it isn't "governmental authority (in form of the judicial branch) is involved in the whole process" just because one judge was looking into one case in the past.
Furthermore it has nothing to do with current events. And last but not least, NSFW games and actual sex trafficking are not the same.

One judge is still from the judicative, so who's talking bs here?
And to be precise it's not my interpretion, i took it from that article:
https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/steam-sperrt-schmuddelspiele,3436385.html
For those wondering why credit card companies, of all things, are suddenly acting as moral authorities: It's less about personal convictions and more about tough legal issues.

The decisive turning point came in 2022 in the US , when a court in California found Visa partly responsible for allowing illegally uploaded child abuse videos on Pornhub to be paid for using credit cards – even though the material had long since been removed. The allegation was that Visa hadn't exerted enough pressure on Pornhub to exclude such content in advance.

The ruling came as a shock to the entire payments industry. Since then, Visa and Mastercard have pursued a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to potentially illegal or problematic content. And this doesn't just apply to porn sites: Platforms like OnlyFans, Patreon, and now Steam were suddenly given an ultimatum – along the lines of: Either you follow our rules or we'll stop processing payments for you.

It's even an unrealistic assumption to assume only one judge was involved in everything by now.
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-whistleblower-says-mastercard-visa-failed-stop-payments-child-sex-abuse-2025-01-24/
Shows that many federal agencies were already involved

It has nothing to do with current events, because you say so?
Sure, it's different when gooners jerking off to disgusting games, instead of disgusting porn.

Okay, you are actually fucking clueless.

The concern people expressed about non-governmental entities making their own rules had to do with companies simply coming up with regulations and restrictions that aren't based on any laws. On a whim and overnight, just because some random group pestered payment processors.
And there are indeed no laws that make any of these games illegal. No, not even those about rape or incest. Contrary to sex trafficking.

So when you claim that we got "a thing many asked here for" and that "governmental authority is involved in the whole process" it only shows that you understood absolutely nothing about what people mind and requested.
A governmental authority indeed should establish clear rules and structures about what is legal and not. A judge looking into some porn website once, has absolutely nothing to do with that. It's still companies randomly making up their minds about what is good or bad.

No idea what exactly is so difficult for you to realize about that.

Welcome to realitiy, every business has a domestic authority called general terms and conditions, which is law of contract. The ones actually being clueless are the people you mentioned.

On a whim and overnight

As i mentioned earlier, Visa had a zero-tolerance policy since years. It just needed a random group, to bring it to Visas attention, because it obviously slipped theirs before.
And as others have pointed out before, these games were also breaking Steams rules and shouldn't been there in the first place, but Steam decided before to be a lazy boner and opened it's storefront to all sorts of trash.

In my opinion Steam is the real culprit here.

it only shows that you understood absolutely nothing about what people mind and requested.

I did and it's a stupid request IMHO, because we already have law of contract in place, as I already explained earlier. A thing people requesting such stuff are getting constantly wrong, talking about blackmail and other BS.

A judge looking into some porn website once, has absolutely nothing to do with that.

You heard about judgments leading the way? One judgement being an example, which can lead to a row of identical ones.

It's still companies randomly making up their minds about what is good or bad.

That's a bit of a random accusation, given that they orientate on what the majority of society thinks is good or bad. Democracy, you know?

"these games were also breaking Steams rules" could you please tell me which rules Vile: Exhumed', which has it's objectional content in text form only, were breaking? https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/vile-exhumed-steam-removed-sexual-content Please point me to the exact rules they were breaking, please.

Since you seem to believe words can break rules, I guess you would support Visa and mastercard banning books, right? After all there are many, many books with questionable content, specially sexual content, right? Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita, Oscar Wilde's portrait of Dorian Gray, Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn adventures, Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis, Sade's D.H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley, George Orwell's 1984, Salman Rushdie's Satanic verses, o Madonna's Sex, for starters. What kind of literature is Madonna's Sex,anyway? BAN IT! Then the second wave of banning. Harem literature books? All banned. Female books with a spicy cover, which is a huge percentage of today's book sales? Banned! Books where authors explore their sexual traumas? Banned. LGTBI books where authors explore their sexual coming out as teenagers? Banned!

I am so tired of those books polluting libraries, and taking space of company-approved book content. I hope Visa and Mastercard also start with their zero-tolerance policy and start banning all those books. It's fsr better to let these huge entities to decide which games we can play, and which books we can read. That way nobody will even think about creating these kind of games and these kind of books. A pity payment processors were not there before, to put legal rules over which books could be written in history or which games could be created.

Or we could also make a poll. After all, the amount of people that want to kill Salman Rushdie and burn every single copy of Satanic verses is millions. Far more than the amount that care about the book. We should do it. Let it burn. Let's do it. Democracy! Marqués of Sade and Oscar Wilde also went to prison for going against the majority of society. Marjane Satrapi had to flee her country for going against the majority ofbher society. Salman Rushdie was shot. They should learn to not go against the majority of society. Long live SuperEarth democracy

"these games were also breaking Steams rules" "I'm not Steam"

YOU were the one that said those games were breaking steam rules. Are you saying those games were not breaking steam rules?

So, which is it? They were breaking steam rules or not? You said they were breaking them in the first place.

"I never wrote of words and/or books""Welcome to realitiy, every business has a domestic authority called general terms and conditions, which is law of contract" YOU were the one saying payment processors could put ban anything they want, and defended Visa had a zero-tolerance policy, because it's a business, and they can ban what they decide. Sorry, I don't get it. Do you support payment processors to have the ability to ban what they want, like controversial games or controversial books, yes or not? It's easy, "no, I don't want payment processors to have such power to decide what we can read or what we can play" "yes, it's s business, they can ban whatever they want". Si, which is it?

"Conveniently leaving out how controversial these dark romance books are discussed" sooooo, if tomorrow payment processors decided to ban tall those books, would you support it? I want you to say clearly if you support banning those books or not. After all, they are controversial. Exactly like Vile: Exhumed.

"they orientate on what the majority of society thinks is good or bad. Democracy, you know? "Again, you say you support payment processors banning games or books they want, because they are controversial, including Vile: Exhumed? .Is that correct? I want you to say clearly you support payment processors banning Vile: Exhumed, or banning Madonna's Sex or banning Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita or bannimg Salman Rushdie's Satanic verses. After all far, far more people in the world want to ban Salman Rushdie's Satanic verses than Vile: Exhumed. It's literally what you have been defending over and over.

"Also not mentioning American Express and Google or Apply Pay, who refuses to process payments for adult content, but suddenly you only blame Visa and Mastercard" "what? You are complaining suddenly there is a dictatorship in the whole world!?! There has always been a dictatorship in North Korea? Why are you complaining when censorship went to 1% to 99% in the world? It's literally the same!!!"

And i don't know, why you are citing "I never wrote of words and/or books" which i wrote in a complete other context to counter your unfounded accusation and which you didn't answered yet.

Again, you say you support payment processors banning games or books they want, because they are controversial, including Vile: Exhumed? .Is that correct?

No, I didn't said that exactly, i just explained how they operate, since people here seem to have a hard time understanding this.

You are complaining suddenly there is a dictatorship in the whole world!?!

Are we suddenly at mental gymnastics, huh?
Dictatorship, because you can't buy disgusting porn on Steam anymore? Thats a real unworthy statement towards people living under real dictatorship.
And just more unfounded assumptions, where did I complained about dictatorship or censorship? You even brought that up, when i asked something completly different.

But I get it, you people know better what I think and believe. /s
And with all that weird and wrong accusations and assumptions, false conclusions, twisting facts, framing, Whataboutism and straw mans, a really stupid level of discussion.

"AMEX or Google and Apple" again? You are desperate to talk about 1% of the market. They are not 95% if the market. Those companies have not forced steam or itch.io to ban anything

"Dictatorship, because you can't buy a" It's called an example of going from 1% to 99% and saying it's the same. I could have used an example of water.

Let's try again: since you defend over and over the zero tolerance policy"

Do you support payment processors banning Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita? Literally, he created the term Loli. It's easy, yes or no?

Do you support payment processors banning Madonna's Sex? High definition shots of Madonna doing dirty deeds. You think that's ok but furry sister 3 should be banned??? It's easy, yes or no?

Do you support payment processors banning Female books with a spicy cover, which is a huge percentage of today's book sales? It's easy, yes or no? Yoibwere complaining they were "controversial"

Do you support payment processors banning Harem literature books. It's the writing equivalent if many if thebgsmes banned. It's easy, yes or no?
