I'm not sure what ESG is, I am guessing that is what this Script used to be called. I've only been using it myself for a couple of months, I was late to the party.
You can just follow the Installation instructions from the discussion page and it should work.
Once it is installed, the specific thing to activate that will mark discussion threads as visited is called Comment Tracker

My idea would be to mark with some kind of specific markers the topics on the forum I've already visited.
The main reasoning behind this request is that I always lose tracking of which bundles/trains I've already checked since nothing indicates on the topic that I was already there.
