Which one?
I would have chosen Skyrim. However, seeing the circumstances, and the fact that you enjoy crazy fun (like Just Cause 2), I recommend Saints Row: The Third.

Darksiders is more like Zelda meets God of War. Very good game and runs well on lower-tier AMD cards from my anecdotal experience, I recommend it.
Fallout 3 is like Skyrim, or rather Skyrim is like an updated mod of FO3. If you are into that then go for it but you will need to mod them as the bare bone games are not worth it. New Vegas is much better too from what I've heard.
Saints Row is like GTA.

Love Saints Row!
Wish they would release a new one. :)

I know, took me hours to get it run on W7 just to have it crash every few minutes.

The best way to play FO3 is to spend an hour and mod it into the New Vegas engine (google Tale of Two Wastelands and follow the directions). I very rarely had any CTD after modding it. Only problem is that it requires both full editions, so both FO3 GOTY and FO:NV Ultimate.
New Vegas is a better game by nearly all counts though, personally I'd just recommend playing that, you're not missing any important story or anything by not playing 3.

this is in alpha, not sure i want to go through all that hassle and then still encounter bugs?

Its been in alpha for a while now, its very stable, and certainly waaaaay more stable than FO3 on modern systems. The issues with crashing are nearly always the game/engine fault, not TTW. I found minimal bugs myself, and certainly no game breaking ones. I played through all of 3 recently just fine and the only "bug" I noticed was dead bodies getting stuck in the floor rarely and making them jitter, which happens in the vanilla game anyway. So long as you follow the FOMM directions and dont use too many mods that arent configured for TTW you should be fine. Its easier than it seems so long as you dont try to break the game with mods.

well i played before saint row and i don't like a lot the sandbox games but i liked this saints row 3, short but i liked.
however if you ask me best game VS hours of gameplay, then skyrim 100% sure. there's a lot of mods that add things, dungeons , quests, better character textures etc....
if you want a game that will give you hours and hours then skyrim (also there's mods that make the inventory more PC friendly/ and sex mods xD) however skyrim can make you bored if you don't like a lot of text games.
if you want a funny game whit a few hours only then saints row

DISHONORED. DISHONORED DISHONORED DISHONORED.
All great games actually, at least as far as I know (never played Darksiders but heard it's good). But my love for Dishonored is unquenchable.

Dishonored isn't on the list. Did you play Bad Rats already? I think it affected your brain... RIP Sir. ;_;

He added an addendum about it.
Also.... I kinda enjoyed what I played of Bad Rats..... I mean it's bad..... but still kinda slightly fun.
I feel treasonous saying that.

Treason, treason! Burn the witch!
Seriously though, it's just a false feeling guilty pleasure, you'll get over it once the Bad Ratsiness starts to wear off.

I have all the games so ill'l tell you in what order I recommend them. Skyrim>Saints row 3>Darksiders > Fallout 3
They are all good games but i sorted them by my enjoyment. Get skyrim the modding makes it worth it, has more mods then fallout and better ones. Saints row 3 is good but it's short but great, only thing i hated about it is it has short draw distance for peds/cars like you could be driving fast and they just pop, it's like baked into the engine no idea if it's on sr4 but ill';l check it out soon. Darksiders is good if you're into the end of the world and fighting the devils and gods minions and such it's what it basicly is. Fallout if you're into guns and wastelands, plays kinda like skyrim but with guns but less enjoyable imo.

Ended up buying the Saints Row Ultimate Franchise Pack for 8,80€, unfortunately it activated as cut version even though I gave an US address. Now to find some uncut patches.
Also bought Skyrim, because it probably will never go that low (6€) and I'll play it for sure sooner or later (enjoyed Morrowind a lot).

Good choices, but Darksiders 1 and 2 are a must. Got the first one years ago without too much hope and ended loving the series

I believe there's a mod for Saints Row 3 (I can't think of the name) that gets rid of the nudity blurring if you're into that. There's a few other fun little mods out there so be sure to look them up if you feel like it :D. And there's a million mods for Skyrim. xD

GMG summer sale last days, and I'd like to pick up at least one of these games listed.
Skyrim, I'm afraid that I'll lack time to play it to its full extent. Also my system probably won't handle that many fancy graphic mods neither.
Darksiders, looks similar to Dark Souls to me. Might not be, but I like it's artwork, gameplay and loot system still.
Saints Row, I enjoyed Just Cause a lot, and this game looks like it doesn't takes itself that serious neither, which I like.
Fallout 3, I've actually played this but did put it down after a lot of exploring & questing, there was just too much too do and I had no idea what was really going on.
Even though Skyrim & Fallout are undoubtely the more known/favored games, I'm actually more interested into Saints Row & Darksiders as these titles are new to me. What would you suggest? Prices are rather similiar, so doesn't matter.
/edit Dishonored might be worth a second thought, too.
