It's my cakeday.

Taking thanks in advance, too tired from a workday and a night of 5 hours.
And the pc i had in mind for 1500 euro, well it's already grown to 1800 now. :( The store i had in mind, where my dad bought his, i am afraid that the case and some other parts would make too much noise (hyper sensitive to it). So found another and going for an expensive but silent case and for a bit more could get a geforce 1070 8gb, but you only live once and you have to treat yourself sometime right?

Small giveaway, don't have much left atm.

I would have advised against it, as nvidia is probably going to release new cards in the end of the month. Along with regular cards, cheaper mining cards will be introduced, so prices for gaming GPUs are likely going to drop by May.
Happy Cakeday irregardless!
1070 should be quite great!

I hear ya, was saving up to get a 1080 ti after medical bills and such but then the crypto boom happened. It's been long enough now that new cards may be around the corner but either way I just can't bring myself to pay $300-400+ over what it's supposed to cost.

Ah well, happy cakeday to ye, hope you got (or are getting) some rest.

Yeah you always keep going with new parts, but i always say it's not as bad as the nineties (386, 486, pentium etc, ram, dvd player).

Thanks, neighbour kid was calling loudly till 1:30, while my alarm clock goes at 6:00, should be heading in early, just hope it keeps quiet, working 3 days this week, so worse case i have to tough it out till thursday.

As long as you have the money, go for it.
I still have a brand new 280 in a box in the closet, couldn't afford the rest of the PC :P

1070 is a good card. I felt like it was the best balance between cost/performance when I picked it up.

Are you really looking at me? You can read my mind?

Happy belated Cake Day, Lugum! The 1070 is great. You might also want to take a look at the Nanoxia Deep Silence series, though the Fractal might be a bit cheaper.
