You can try mixing coffee with coca-cola. I didn't ever try it, but I guess it won't have the smell of coffee. This's the drink students in our university drink when they need to learn everything the night before the exam.

There are two categories for it:

  1. Long-time process
  2. Right here, right now

Second option is quite more common. You need to do something and it affects your sleep schedule. In such case, usually you can easily delay your sleep need by at least 5-6 hours just by focusing on the thing you're doing. It works for me so well that sometimes I finish what I'm doing and notice that it's 9:00 AM already. The more often you do that, the better results you get.

First option is some kind of side-effect of second option. Imagine I have to visit a doctor 1:00 PM, while I usually go to sleep at mentioned 9:30 AM. This is long-time process, as you need to slowly change your sleep schedule to stay awake at particular day. In such case, I often start adjusting my sleep schedule 3-5 days before, so I'm able to get sleepy around 4:30 AM (after 5 days), then sleep for around 6-7 hours and wake up 1-2 hours before visit.

If you practice both options quite well, then after some time you'll become a weirdo such as me, who can sleep anytime, or don't sleep at all, as needed.

There's no need for any energy boosters if you have a valid thing to do or valid reason, your subconscious will immediately notice that and try to help you. The thing is, if your subconscious understands how important it is, otherwise it won't try to help.

Stand at the computer instead of sitting in front of it when you notice you're tired.

Yeah, it might not be nice when you're extrememly tired but it's a lot harder to fall asleep when standing than it is when seated. If the OP can watch movies or play games, maybe they could put on some music videos and have a dance, or a more of a slow, lumbering sway considering the tiredness factor?

Another possibility could be to sit on one of those big exercise balls instead of a chair as they require balancing. If you fell asleep you'd likely fall off. You just wouldn't dare to go to sleep!

It might sound torture, but your body can get used to it. Just make sure you keep feeding youself(I'm not saying sugar and coccaine, real food, or something soft but that fills) or it gets easier for you to fall asleep.

Black tea has more caffeine than green tea, if you wanna switch it up.

And one more important fact. If you have a need for additional power, you'll get best results with drinks that you haven't ever tried yet. If you drink coca-cola every day, then it won't help at all as you know how it feels and your body already torelates the amount of coffeine in it. If you don't drink energy drinks often, they can help a bit, just don't overextend or you'll fall into the same situation as above. When played properly, your subconscious will connect drinking energy drinks with a need to stay awake and will double the effect.

How so? As soon as people see you have nothing to rob, they'll leave you alone.

Standing + food/drinks with high amount of sugar (soda or muffin would do it). Also, try to remain focused on something and prevent your mind from drifting off. Having music around also helps. Been working nights for about a year now and it isn't fun so I do hope that this is a short term thing for you.

-edit- Avoid energy drinks, they will make you crash hard once they wear off. High sugar food will sustain you longer and not have as large an impact in the end.

Maybe adjust your sleep pattern? There are different patterns that will cost you less and less time sleeping as you dont need to sleep 8 consecutive hours in a row.
Here is a chart with what I mean: Sleep pattern

If you don't like coffe, some strong tea with generous quantities of sugar is the best option. Tea contoains theanine wich works in similar ways as caffeine, but I bet you already know this. One thing that can help is trying not to eat much during dinner, or skip it at all. At least it works for me. Or "UN BUEN MATE" always helps also xD (algunas personas le ponen cafe al mate, por ahi podes probar, capaz no te disgusta tanto así)

Stayin awake is important... but also... STAYIN ALIVE!
