Nintendo Switch question, hooking it up to your phone.

So i need to hook it up to my phone, will this "contraption" work?

It says i need to use an a-to-c cable with an USB OTG adapter. Although the sites mentions C first, then A second, would that matter? Does A need to be first? Maybe dumb questions, but i got to make sure before i order.
