i am in CS: GO noob too, but i have some experience from CS 1.6 so here is some tips: Stick with team, communicate, listen what others says, be careful and dont rush without checking every corner, throw flashbank first, always have ready full clip, you never know what could be behind some crate or corner, have prepared secondary weapon when you run out of ammo and first try some practice against bots, it could help

Sound is important. Keep your volume high. Hearing footsteps always gives you the advantage, so you can peak first.

Try to outplay your opponents. With the correct use of flashes and smokes you can fake an A push and head to B, so as to force a rotation that can be desasterous for the enemy team.

Equipment is also pretty important. A good mouse and a mousepad are needed for a better experience.

Try to communicate as much as possible with your teammates. I have a team and have played several LANs, and seriously, communicating can change the whole game.

Try to check corners and place your crosshair at head level. This way you can get the correct peak first, and rack up some kills in every round.

Try to learn the spray patterns of ALL the weapons. You might play well with the AWP, so if you're good at fast pacing with the awp and doing fast peaks and plays, then try to practice with the awp.

Rank doesn't matter. If you play for months and you're still Master Guardian or gold nova, I believe LAN is where it's at (most teams have low ranks but in LAN they perform better, for example in LANs we face Global Elites and we manage to beat them even though we are only DMG and LEM.)

Learn some strats by watching videos, and learn callouts. Important for communication and helps your teammates a lot to inform them about an enemys position.

learn how to aim on death match

learn the maps from watching pro players on twitch. I am following n0thing, he is really funny beside giving good advice, you may want to watch him.

Unlike the dude above me I would say:

1. DO NOT stick to noob guns

2. DO play with AK47/m4a1s/m4a4 instead of p90 and the other SMGs. Once you learn how to use these the SMGs will be easier.

3. DO aim for the head. In Death Matches you can only try to hold the crosshair on enemy head without even shooting, just hold it as much as you can on the head to get used to it.

4. DO NOT go only for body shots, you will get used to this style of playing and it will be hard to change it.

5. DO NOT rely on going behind of your enemies, that rarely works.

6. DO crouch if you feel you need. When do you need to crouch?

a) when you want to be a smaller target
b) when your spray get out of control

For better shooting
1) Learn recoil patterns
2) Play deatchmatch or target practice maps
3) Use a mouse mat and/or a mouse with a good sensor

For being better overall
1) Learn the map like the back of your hand - callouts, spots, site/mid control, prefire positions
2) Communicate with your team - callout enemy positions, make sure your teammates are aware of everything going on on the map
3) Learn smoke and prenade positions on each map, know the right time to use the flash
4) Learn about economics, know when to forcebuy and when to save money
5) Predict you enemy's moves, this is more advanced stuff that require a lot of practice to master
6) Watch ALL tutorials/commentaries by TheWarOwl, you can learn a lot from him
7) Watch pro players' streams on twitch

Don't hold down the fire button.

Pretty much whatever everyone else said, I'd advise you to just play on bots first ( hard+, lower is way too easy. ) then go Competetive. Casual is honestly a shitstorm in most cases.

I bought CSGO a while ago but didn't get to play it much as I had to switch to a capped internet, but the few hours of gameplay made me love that game.

I used to play multiplayer games like Battlefield 3, and failing considerably.
In CSGO? I kick ass. It one of the very few games where I can actually lead on the leaderboard sometimes (Yeah, I suck at competitive FPSs.)

I think it turns out that every CSGO player can use the same weapons in a match, instead of needing to level up to unlock more powerful weapons (like in BF3).
Whenever I get a decent internet again, I must remember this thread, you guys give out VERY nice tips.

Only thing to do is play more, if you die alot then watch others and learn what works and what doesnt, might be a good idea to watch high ranking matches on go tv an see crosshair placement and stuff

hy bro, welcome in CSGO, play Deathmatch for a while, set ur aim and settings, then play casual. when u get confidence on ur aim, then go for competetive with ur friends in lobby!

Noob here also. How do you get those weapon cases aside from the Steam Market?

find 4 friends and keep playing with them ;) then you won't have retard russians in your team raging like cry babys.

First of all, play with bots, a long time.
With them you will have time to learn some parts of the maps and improve your aim with any weapon.
