It's one of the best sites to use!
..if you're someone who hates themself and enjoys getting scammed from all fronts.

+1 for zeepond
it is actually alright if anyone doubts it, I have won Distrust on it so far, and have entered a few more giveaways

Its one of the only sites you will find good games on and have a chance at winning. (invite only GA, groups, Whitelists)
You also don't have to do any tasks for that chance.

Captain Froggy, the person who runs the site is pretty nice also. I've talked to him a few times.

Oh he also does GAs on here as well in case you weren't aware.

There area few other user giveaway sites, but unless things have changed, SG is the only reputable, reliable, and user-friendly one.
In short, be careful when using the other sites, don't go in with high expectations, and don't waste your resources offering them anything more than free games yourself.

Putting aside user giveaway-sites, there are quite a few site-promoted-giveaway sites to consider, and they're much more reliable overall (and several are entry-max-capped, so the odds don't get too crazy). If you're looking for something to spend free time on something that isn't SG, I'd actually recommend currency-gain/level-gain sites like Chrono.gg and Alienware, since you get a guaranteed eventual return off those, typically just for the minimal effort of a single daily login.

It's the only one that isn't riddled with absolute bullshit.

What about playblink, gameminer, tremorgames, galagiveaways and orlygift? Lel

playblink and gameminer are dead
galagiveaways = indiegala, mentioned above in first comment.
tremorgames does not have user-made giveaways, and I'm unsure about orlygift, but I thought same is true for it?

Orlygift is decent.

1) No, it's not.
2) I'm talking about the fact that it is not a site where users can host giveaways. It's more similar to gleamio (with a lot of efforts and no guarantee to get key), than to steamgifts.

Nope but imo steamgifts is the best one by a country mile. I still use indiegala to host auctions and other giveaways occasionally but the feedback system is open to serious abuse so I only giveaway guaranteed games where the indiegala bundle key has not been revealed. The others mentioned I haven't used but from the general consensus of written comments from above, I wouldn't use them in the future either.

Steamcompanion and Playblink were the only decent alternatives. Now that these 2 are dead, everything else seems somewhat trash.

Any chance Steamcompanion will ever come back?

I didn't see anyone mention this one, and I've only used it a couple of times, but just for the sake of completeness:

I've tried a few others but they pretty much all are trash. I've also got an automated alert through IFTTT for any new posts to /r/FreeGamesOnSteam, but in the last year or so that's mostly trash or a blitz of social spam to get a flat out bad game.

There are a couple of giveaway-dedicated subreddits on Reddit.

The biggest (and most famous) one is - https://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfGaming/

And there are also:

This may be a bit outdated, but I once made a list:

It would be nice if the community could gather an updated list :)
