I believe it's referring to a few threads that have popped up over the past few days regarding this and similar events (search "nomination" as I believe some of the threads have now been closed). In a "somewhat mutual" agreement Wallister and me both closed the threads, because i thought it would be better for the forum, it was just 1 topic first for if people to express an opinion about it, then Wallister made another one, as Jim below here puts it, even drew more attention on him and this.
I always firmly stated i never wanted Wallister to come to this decision (even though i had a feeling he would) while i firmly have my opinions about the whole nomination thing, the game that came next interested me and i would have watched too, and thus i regret he came to this decision.

However your thread was going to achieve nothing but conflict, I don't believe that was your intention but certain trolls around here love it. It was carte blanche for them to start another one of their crusades.

My intention was to create an open and civil dialogue, for anyone sharing their opinion on the subject, in whatever form.
And if alot of people would have loved the nomination thing, then by all means you had the "win".
Not to have the current ones closed (you guys started it already, and it'd would be unfair) but more an open suggestion (whatever came out) for anyone who might have or had similar plans in the future.
However i do agree with Tzaar about perspective, and it just comes across like that, that there is just a (large) group that doesn't like the nomination events and how it's handled, but that those people need their perspective changed and not yours.
And with that i am not saying you got to agree against the nomination thing, but the perspective that others have a different one. You even made a seperate topic, just with that title, 'change of perspective'.
You probably felt attacked and hate (elsewhere) but i don't think i seen much in my thread atleast and it was just civil and people post their opinion (and it was both ways, it wasn't just against) nor do i think there is a secret group just waiting to bash on people whenever they get a chance.

By all means though, let Tzaar try and spin whatever he wants to spin. He has called someone a nazi, he laughed at someones marriage and basically claimed Rachel was full of shit and was in the bundle threads for popularity.
I called someone a Nazi who called me a Nazi first (several times, in fact). I even proved that to you, yet you disregarded it. I reported that member of the group to two admins for racist and harassing remarks several times -- they did nothing, so I quietly left the group. No drama, no posts, not even a peep. That person continues to post harassing remarks to this day. Mullins asked me why I left on an old GA of hers, so I replied honestly. K and Rachel did nothing, and I said as much. I said I don't like you because you're an attention whore - I stand by what I said, and even more so now.
The only "drama" was started by you and yours, and whoever was stalking Mully's old giveaways. Rachel said someone should "go kill himself" for posting a bundle thread before hers, and called others vicious names (asshole, stupid mother fucker, etc) when someone posted before her (directly to me in Steam chat, no less), but yes .... those are all reasons I left the group.
Their reactions to what was said on a 6 month old giveaway was their choice (same as your reaction was your choice). They didn't leave because two people didn't like them -- that's just what you want to think and what fits your "scenario".
Oh, and I never attacked any bundle threads or SGTools giveaway threads. The only time I even open an sgtools giveaway thread is to post a congratulations, happy birthday, etc, so that's just a blatant lie. :)

I did actually tell Rachel and K in a constructive manner multiple times, even offered to try and resolve things with the other person -- that person returned the sentiment with rampant name-calling and abuse (Rachel pasted it to me). I didn't feel the need to go to the forums about anything, and vented to Mullins in an old giveaway (since we didn't have each other added on Steam).
There's no crusade of hate. I don't like a handful of people and disapprove of the way certain things were/are handled. I still feel the same to this day.
Oh, and I did let your little event "lie". I'm even letting your insults and drama "lie." You see, I just don't care. I avoided drama by leaving the group. No one noticed, no one said a word, and that was fine by me. :)

My bad, I am pretty passionate about this specific topic, throw in that my girlfriends involved and I perhaps go a bit overboard, but I'll always stand up to it and I will always defend those close to me.

I seen such rings going on in other places, and having been a victim myself (on a forum, and years in school), i won't deny there might be such things.
Ifso i am not going to take guesses who might be part of it (for me it's speculation for now), nor do i really care (not that i don't feel sorry for anyone IF it's all true) but i am not a bully or the victim, so it's not in my hands.
That bullying brought me to steam and to this place, and which seemed alot better community then that other one.
But in whatever community, be it a school class, be it a forum there will always be groups, and people not liking eachother.
Personally yes i also don't like SGT, as it just restricts more for a whole lot of people (like the nomination thing).
You and Tzaar and some other people have some quarrels atleast with eachother, which most likely doesn't go away.
But back to my thread, maybe you think it "fueled" some stuff, maybe it even did, but there were still plenty of people that commented, expressed an opinion which i am sure not have a single connection with the people you have issues with, and really just say what they said because it's how they felt.

Firstly, I think people forget that everyone is human and somethings big or small can hurt a person more than you think. It's disheartening to have people call out imperfections. I'm sure they meant it all in good faith but for some people it's enough to make them feel down.
Ally told me in private that he was thinking about still doing it. Privately. People said they don't like it because it's boring to see the same people. So he thought it might be better with 15 friends or a group. A group might be better since it was going to work like the hunger games where once you did it you couldn't do the next.
So he is doing what he wants to do. He took people's advice :D

I didn't post the first thread about nomination events, I posted a rebuttal to a frankly useless thread that was only posted to cause issues. There was no need to post a thread spewing shit at a current event other than to cause problems. But really, why care about what people on an Internet forum thing? I never understood people getting upset about whiners. Anyway, they're a very small minority, despite how vocal. There was a poll up recently about what people think about restricted giveaways, and I recall that there was overwhelming support for them (or at least for giveaway creators to do what they want to do).

Now, I don’t get it.. I am not active.. at all basically on the forums but I am lurking and looking around for something I find fun and interesting such as puzzles or whatever might be up and running. This was something I thought of as a great and really fun idea that I was definitely going to keep an eye on.
And now it turns out it’s not going to happen due to some people being unhappy about the way nominations work – if I have understood everything correctly.
The way I think about this site is that it is, in the end, about gifting. Giving away and receiving stuff for free. To me that means that whenever you win something you should be glad. You got something.. for free, most likely from some random user you do not know apart from their screen name and image.
Then when I see people complaining about “I don’t get nominated” and this and that and bah and gah… isn’t it up to the gifter to decide what to do with his/hers money and what and who to spend it on?
Now naturally when I see an event such as this I would love to get nominated and have a chance at something that really is an awesome idea and not even only that but also a great chance to receive games (and there were some great ones too I recall) for free. But… I know that I am not one of the most active users here. Not in posting, puzzle ideas, events or in gifting overall. Therefore I realize that I am not a realistic choice for getting nominated because someone else.. the way I think of it.. kind of deserves it more. They have spent much more of their time and/or money to give something to the community so naturally they should get nominated way, way ahead of me. I really don’t see the problem… And even if I don’t think some nominee deserves it more than me.. that really is not up to me. It is up to the, in this case, Event Leader.
The chance of getting a nomination to a potential future event would probably be bigger if you had been positive to the idea and been seen as a positive person to these great people who creates events about giving away stuff for free – instead of complaining that they should give away the games they bought using their own hard-earned money to me. “Not to these other people – ME! - No, it’s not up to you what to do with your money. You should buy the game and give it to ME” - At least this is how it sounds like to me.
In the end the site is, once again, about receiving and giving away stuff for free. Why are people complaining about this? Naturally someone else is going to receive “better stuff” than you if they have put themselves in a better position to get the chance of it. And there are a lot of other chances apart from these Nomination Events to win things too.
That’s how I think of this that seems to be going on as of now. If I have misunderstood anything of what it is that has made stuff come to this I am all ears to learn more. :)

Anyone else excited about tonights new South Park episode? After reading these threads, that's all I can think about. I was let down by the past few seasons, but this season has been great so far.
SG seems to be tying in to the show pretty well. The end of episode 2 feels like where we currently are in SG.

The first 3 episodes were quite funny although I liked the giant douche vs turd sandwich (Part 2) subplot (1 & 3) better than the part about online harassment (ep2).
