yep, im a mod in her group. despite the daily giveaways she also give the staff a list of games ( including Triple A ) to pick from,

Ignoring the problem unfortunately has made the problem grow in size. I can't deal with the trolls intent on ruining everything everyone does. Its probably the last thing im going to do for the forum and that's literally because I already had it running. I'm sure someone else will step up and provide something for the community. The hate you got on your bundle threads is part of the problem. Its so unfounded and in the past 2/3 months literally anything someone does is complained about. I've had enough of it to be frank, there's only so much negativity i can watch before i pack my bags and move on.

The expression "vocal minority" is important to remember; in any situation in life, a disproportionate amount of noise will come from an insignificant segment of people and, usually, they'll be complaining.
Also worth remembering that purely text-based communication strips away so much nuance from all communication - a lot of the people who came across like entitled asshats would probably be really pleasant in person, they just suck at expressing disappointment (at not being able to participate in the event, the idea for which your infectious enthusiasm sold so convincingly). It's (momentarily) satisfying to vent and assure ourselves that everyone is a j**ing, t*****ing b****k, but it's actually counterproductive, and ultimately much better for our own mental state to always be generous in giving the benefit of the doubt.
And here's a silver blue? lining - you tried to set up an interesting new event, and even if things didn't go to plan, I already added you to my WL... Can you feel the tingly blue-heart goodness? You're in excellent company there :)

I don't see why people felt the need to criticize this event so much. It's up to the event creator to decide how they want to give out their games. If it's in the form of a nomination event - let them. There was absolutely no need for the backlash that this event got. If Wallister wanted to host the event with only people from their friend's list - that's their choice (their money/games, their rules) and they could have done that just as easily. Instead, it was opened to the public to decide who they believed deserved the chance. I enjoy Deal or No Deal and was looking forward to watching how this event played out, but that's been ruined now because some people were jealous that no one was picking them.
A lot of people that were nominated deserved the nomination. I don't know where this elitism stuff came from. The "popular" SG users didn't get there for nothing - they're known by many people for their positive contributions, whether through giveaways, putting in the time to host events, providing scripts, or just being an overall nice person. The people that wasted time bashing on this event could have instead spent that time positively contributing to the community in some way if they wanted to get noticed and be remembered by the community.

But they did! They posted 1 bundle GA thuis week! according to some of the comments posting GA which takes few seconds is worth more than developing a script that whole community is using or a card farming idling bot for example. And surely worth more than posting tens and hundreds of helpful comments on forums.

I did not suffer - afair noone nominated me so I lost nothing. It doesn't change the fact that bunch of little crybabies not for the first time try to tell us what we can and cannot do with our own money (pro hint: what we can do is to make things they can enter and win, what we cannot do is make things that will not allow them to enter, because then we are bad elitists destroying the community).

Your choice - I say screw haters, just ignore them. I mean each time I make a GA event on the forums I get loads of BlackLists for example. All of my major events in last year resulted in 15-50 BlackLists each. So theorethically best thing to do would be to never post anything at the community - but while there are some (quite a few actually) idiots, jelly people, entitled brats - there's many many more great peeps, denying yourself pleasure of sharing community with them, participating in it togther just because of some stupid entitled morons is not really worth it, better ignore the idiots if you cannot handle them (and bash them yourself if you can handle them ;p) instead of quitting because of them ;)
Trust me - if you quit you will miss a lot. I will give you an example that happened to me literally 15 minutes ago. Remember how I complained about how my current event got me 50 new BLs? Well just 15 mins ago one thing happened that made it all worthwhile. A certain someone contacted me if I maybe can remove them form my BL. What turned out? I BLed this someone 11 months ago for haveng very very bad ratio. But this someone saw my event 2 weeks ago and it insired them to fix their own ratio. In slightly more than 1 week made over 100 GAs (to put it into perspective during whole previous year made less than 50 GAs, now made 100+ in one week), didn't manage to hit 1:1 yet but said is working on it, said is hosting own event soon as well. Man - I don't remember when was the last time something on SG made me smile this much. And if I decided to quit it would never happen. This person would keep leeching, I'd keep them BLed, we'd never talk, they'd never get invested into community. Think how many thingies like that you yourself will miss if you decide to quit now!

Don't forget that some of us are willing to swim against the tide with you, which could make it easier, like geese flying in their triangular shape in the sky. It is hard, but don't let people tell you you cannot do something for the community, just because it may or may not include those complaining. Others appreciate what you do. People will complain that you didn't have them in your whitelist, that you aren't giving away game X, that your GA time is too long. Let them waste their voice and time complaining over something ridiculous like that, and you just keep on doing you :)

I know it's a 'typical' thing to say. But it really is best to ignore the negative people. I've had people hate on my events/call me a loser all the time for doing stuff for the forums. But usually it's a small minority of people, with the majority happy about it.

I think I actually missed a whole lot of it. (and even then thought it was too much).
Now that I'm actually reading some of the threads that was hinted to (when people asked where stuff went down)....it's quite a lot more than I thought. As well as involving people who I thought were better than this.
Maybe it's just me but now I wish I could actually just read some private convo's referenced to figure out the bottom of the drama.
In any case we need a better way of self-policing, not that my opinion as a nobody even matters realistically. Pretty sure transparency in some form would be a first step but I dunno.
