I don't know wether they do work or not. I haven't claimed them, but sometimes they expire and those things.
Is there any way to check it? I'd like to raffle them but I'd rather not risk a ban for them not working.

No, the only way to test them is to actually activate them.

No, there no way to check them except by using them.
Maybe check some group like Delete Giveaway if key is not working if you want to do a giveaway on steamgifts, or somes thread like Anti Ninjas Keys Drops ... if you doesn't want to run a steamgifts giveaway.

Technically that doesn't prevent anything because internal group rules don't supersede SG rules but most people I've come across will agree to delete GAs, even public GAs, where they key is a dupe.
The worst that can happen anyway is the key marked not received and I don't think a new user can actually lose slots since they have very few to start with.

of course internal groups dosnt aply over SG, but most of those user (if not all of them) Will grant the "I agree to delete the ga"

If you bought them from trustworthy sites (HB, Fana for example) they usually don't.
I had a bad experience recently with an indigala code (it wasn't a base game, but a DLC to it).

Most people will agree to delete a giveaway if the key doesn't work.
If for some reason they are playing hard-ass, the key can be marked as not received and gifters can lose giveaway slots but you are making your first giveaways so you won't have a lot to start with.

As for keys expiring, it does happen but I have made 600+ giveaways and I have ran into key issues maybe twice (one time I had already given the key away and forgot) and I have given away keys that were likely to be from 2018 this year so I wouldn't worry too much about the risk of dupes if I were you.

I guess it depends where they come from. If you bought them on reputable sites, the risk is much lower. If you got them on sites like Lootboy or other free keys sites, it makes the risk much higher but again, nobody will come at you with pitchforks.

Just be mindful of Humble Bundle keys. They have been known to flag people as "traders" if they use gift links "often" so the best way to approach these is to uncover the key and use it as a regular key.

Good luck :)

Thanks to all!
If I do a group giveaway, will it count toward my level/contribution?
Also they come from a lot of places. Humble keys, some cheap ones I bought long ago, giveaways in other sites, etc etc.

That is mostly correct, but it is not half value. There is full, reduced, and no value. The reduced value will only give you 15% CV.

Believe as long as you get 5 entries in a group GA, it counts.

A public GA will give you CV even if you only get 1 entry, but if it is restricted to a group, invite only, white list, or region restricted, it needs to get 5 entries to give you CV. If you create a giveaway with multiple copies, the total entries needed is still 5 to get CV, it is not based on the number of copies. So if you create a single giveaway with 3 copies of a game, 5 total entries will still get you CV.

If you are interested in reading more, almost everything about the site is explained in the FAQ.

Like everybody said, but it also depends on the quality of the game in the first place. If a site gives a lot of keys away, like Alienware, the game loses its contribution value here for example.

There's one guy who made a group for his unused and unsure keys.

Main requirement for joining the group, is being ok with deleting the giveaway if the key doesn't work.

The lootboy group has the same policy, and they don't need to be keys you got from Lootboy, I use both groups when clearing out my older keys
