Can you sue steam for false advertisement? Or does the recent update stop you from doing that? :p

That's not what is considered "false advertisement", i'm no lawyer, but i'm pretty sure a price tag can not be subject of a claim like that.

A price tag is a mere help for the consumer, the seller can always say "Actually, it costs this much" and it's up to the consumer if he is okay with that or not. If you actually bought something, then the seller can't say "Oh wait, it costs more than you gave me" but if it's before the exchange of money/goods then the price can be very different to what is advertised.

Please correct me if i'm wrong :D

Not sure if it applies teh same way but where I live in any store the price labeled is the price it is. Whether it be by accident or not.

Well a good store would try to deliver on the price that is advertised so they don't lose their face, i guess.
But again, i could be completely wrong about everything i said :D

yea a day after black friday in the US, i bought a 500 dollar TV tghat was marked as 200 on black friday and the tab was still sayign 200. but it rang up as 500 cuz that was its price on black friday, we complained cuz the tag said 200, and they were charging us 500, becuase the price showed 200, they bit the bullet and sold it to me for 200.

price tag means everything

true that

No it doesn't. No store in the United States is legally obligated to sell anything at what a price tag may incorrectly display. The store can charge whatever the price is supposed to be for it. If they gave you a deal on a TV it's because they didn't want to lose face and not because they had to.

As stated below, an indicated price tag is the price you are paying. Anything else is false advertising and misleading, to get customers in a shop, to find out the price is not as advertised..

Internet sales are another thing altogether, than can cancel your purchase before it goes through etc..
