I just noticed that it was 40 points to enter the giveaway for Dead Rising 2 which was obtained for the sale price of $20 this weekend. When games go on sale should they "cost" the sale price in points to enter or the normal price? I've also noticed some price fluctuations with the Frozenbyte collection.

I actually prefer full price instead of discounted price. It keeps the barrier of entry higher, which will discourage those who don't really want the game from entering a giveaway.

I agree that it should be full price, because it will fluctuate too much if you start taking sale prices into account. Plus the points are supposed to reflect the "value" of the giveaway more so than the price.

Yeah, I think the entry cost for the contest should reflect the total "value" of the game, but I think in my contributions it should only reflect the $20 that I'll be spending, rather than the $40.

NO NO NO you guys are all obviously running out of points. Guess what tough toe nails only enter in stuff you really want. The points being more than the price gives you more points and also requires more points thats the point(see what i did there?)

The point of this site isn't that you can enter tons of giveaways every day you have to make sacrifices and manage your points

I still have 200 Points ... thinking of generating an Invite all ready :D

LOL. I had almost 300 at one point... down to 7 after generating a few invites and not winning HL2: EP1 or EP2 no matter how many times I enter.

Not having a lot definitely makes me much more selective. I like it the way it is now--full price instead of sale price.

What if they bought it off sale? I vote full price.

That's the thing, we won't know at what price they purchased it. Or if they get it on sale, and wait until the sale is over to list it. I think the full price is the only way really.

I am a fan of "charging" full price.

.

It limits the entries boosting peoples chances to win (that are entered).

People could have purchased the games at full value.

Helps prevent "Spamming" points

Keep it full price. Like everyone is saying keeps people from entering just to win the game, let the people who really want it enter.

Full price. We take only 10% of those points to spend. If it was the sale points we would never get enough points :P
