We have won!! Square Enix has heard the outcry of the Community and has patch both games for Offline Environment!! I would like to say thank you everyone, Have a Merry Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Old Title: Beware of Square Enix Games on Steam
It has seem Square Enix has decided to follow the Always-Online DRM that they have implanted that will not allow you to play Offline as the game is strongly using the Steam Cloud Save feature or some other mechanism feature. There is also no Local Save as it will hide and auto-upload itself into Cloud.
Created a Very strong topic in Lightning Return Final Fantasy XIII to see if they will reply or make any news to defend their practice but it seems they are ignoring it by insulting their Customers with false information, misleading and lying.
Both Final Fantasy VI and Lighting Returns will not allow Offline play and Off Cloud Save.
Just Cause 3 has the Denuvo DRM but the bad kind of the DRM.

Also share your thoughts about this.
And if you would like to help, please share this news around as this should not be allowed as it punishes the Customers who paid for the product only to be punish for not allowing to play whenever and wherever they want while encouraging the use of "Cracks".

Update: Square Enix is now officially really Misinforming their Legit paid Buyers of FF VI. The game requires Always-Online Connection to start but never informs them about it.

Update: Final Fantasy VI now has a News Patch for Offline Play. Sadly Lightning Returns has no news.

Do you support their Always-Online DRM

Nice a very good reason to fully deny their catalogue of games.

And once again..i'm betting there will be pirate versions out there with full offline play. People who pay just support this idiocracy.

Well, there goes my last reason to buy the new Deux Ex...first that pre-buy bonus shit and now this...

But by the other side, this is because the pc master race pirates, guys who only pirate games and make the industry go full paranoid...now, we all are paying for their sins...so, meh, maybe on a year or two we well have this fucking system on any game...what a fucking shit

i bet in some weeks we will have a "unnoficial patch" to fix that shit hahaha

What a bunch of a-holes... always online will only make people stop buying their games and recur to piracy.

I don't try anyway since I care about achievements and stuff, I play non-Steam games in that case

That's dissappointing.

Always-Online DRM is an inherently flawed system, designed by people with a mediëval mindset that have no place in he modern gaming-industry. AKA it's stupid, does not work against piracy at all cause it's quite circumventable, and only punishes the people who buy a game. And since I like buying games, this makes me ignore a game instead. Even Deus Ex which I love is getting tainted with this apparently
