Do you support their Always-Online DRM
thank you, just "not interested" any Square Enix products I don't own yet.

My PC will always be connected with the Internet, and I have backup ISPs if it is disconnected one day, not to mention that the support for the first ISP is great. In conclusion : I won't have Internet connection problems.
But still, I found always-online DRM is unsettling. What is the purpose of always-online DRM? Nothing. They did not stop the piracy, but in some effect, supports piracy. If we try to take a look at other DRM : Steam. Using the 2-hour rule, people could try the game, and if they don't like it, they can return it; so people claiming that they pirate to test the game loses one of the reason to pirate the game. But being unable to play the game, while legally owns the game, only pushes for legal owners to just commit piracy.
Games are not cheap (according to me), so if I purchase a game, my satisfaction must be guaranteed. If I purchased a $1 game, I am fine if I am unable to play it, it's only $1, but unable to play a $60 game? Just because I have crappy Internet connection? That is unacceptable. Internet connection may not be a problem for me, but for other people it could be a problem. Even if you have perfect Internet connection, some hiccup may occur, which is not the fault of the end users.
Always-online is fine, as long as the game is MP. Elite Dangerous for example, allows customer to back out from their initial pledge when they announced that internet connection is required to play the game (offline mode is there, but internet connection is required).

I never paid attention to that but that explains why I couldn't play when my internet was down.
But I like their games (well not all but most FF at least) and I'm 99.9% of the time online so it won't really affect my future purchases. I understand how shitty it is though since in other games (when I'm aware of it) it usually annoys me a lot. For a solo game there's absolutely no point.

Maybe. But who knows? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denuvo#Controversy Not much is known, yet.
I think it's the online leaderboard. and Gameworks. and avalanche new york.
^ Nothing to see here, folks! just me talking out of my a** ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The real issue is always online DRM as it has kept me from playing GTA on a few occasions. People seem to think piracy is an all in one solution (which is why DRM was introduced in the first place... the circle of life... err computer language?), and [piracy] is fine for single player, but if I am not mistaken you would still not be able to play online as you would with a purchased version. I believe it is a lot more complicated than either dealing with the DRM or pirating the game, as some people like myself have internet at times, and not at other times. So not as black and white as many of you seem to be trying to make the argument here.
And while speaking with your wallet is fine... you should also let the reason be known why you chose to speak with your wallet, otherwise there would be no point to it. Companies would just see sales drop and assume it was due to piracy and just try to make stronger DRM.

It's Square Enix. They who thought Augment Your Preorder was a good idea. That releasing the sequel to Tomb Raider exclusive to Xbone on the same day as Fallout 4 was a good idea. That gutting the Hitman franchise was a good idea. That milking FF to death was a good idea.

Why its so heard to realize that using drm that hits in paying customers is retarded idea?
Make your game more enjoyable for pirates, brilliant!
And no, you can't stop those few talented coders that are extremely happy for a challenge of breaking your new drm.

Oh here we go again. The very SAME PART of the series that almost killed the Final Fantasy franchise a few years back. The lightning games pretty much killed all interest I had in the series and I've always been a long time lover of Final Fantasy 4. A part of the series SO BAD it nearly bankrupted the company not once but TWICE if im not mistaken (this happened a few years back when it was released on consoles).
But for some reason they kept trying to push these lightning games even though the level design was bad, the story would often turn bad, and had a bland protagonist no one could care about. I guess the stigma on the lightning saga continues.

I understand why peeps would be upset over this but since I'm always online to begin with, it doesn't really affect me :/. Still a shit move from Square, but that is all I have to say.

Disappointed with this. Previously Square Enix were about on par with Valve for me (a company I'd never love, but who I'd always respect), but this is bringing them down to modern Ubisoft's level, all kinds of annoying shit for no good reason.

http://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791440617364/announcements/detail/69042341792055139
We have won!! Square Enix has heard the outcry of the Community and has patch both games for Offline Environment!! I would like to say thank you everyone, Have a Merry Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Old Title: Beware of Square Enix Games on Steam
It has seem Square Enix has decided to follow the Always-Online DRM that they have implanted that will not allow you to play Offline as the game is strongly using the Steam Cloud Save feature or some other mechanism feature. There is also no Local Save as it will hide and auto-upload itself into Cloud.
Created a Very strong topic in Lightning Return Final Fantasy XIII to see if they will reply or make any news to defend their practice but it seems they are ignoring it by insulting their Customers with false information, misleading and lying.
Both Final Fantasy VI and Lighting Returns will not allow Offline play and Off Cloud Save.
Just Cause 3 has the Denuvo DRM but the bad kind of the DRM.

Also share your thoughts about this.
And if you would like to help, please share this news around as this should not be allowed as it punishes the Customers who paid for the product only to be punish for not allowing to play whenever and wherever they want while encouraging the use of "Cracks".
Update: Square Enix is now officially really Misinforming their Legit paid Buyers of FF VI. The game requires Always-Online Connection to start but never informs them about it.
Update: Final Fantasy VI now has a News Patch for Offline Play. Sadly Lightning Returns has no news.
