It really shouldn't be need to be said, but don't express negativity toward any belief system (or religion in general) within this thread.

Door-to-door religion-peddlers tend to very distinctly not be the best and brightest of their respective faiths, by my unfortunately extensive experience with such matters. But this one was pretty astounding in how deeply confused it was:

First, they couldn't tell me which God they were peddling for. You'd think that'd be an easy one, but apparently they'd never even heard of non-Christian religions. Well.. okay. They stumbled around a bit trying to guess if I meant atheism or not (I wasn't aware that atheists worshiped a God, myself), which forced me to have to list off other religions- they seemed surprised even just to hear that Judaism and Islam were actual things. Then, after refusing to clarify their denomination so I could pull information from that (based off the next bit of information, I'm gonna guess it's a bit of a niche one), they tried to insist to me that the Holy Trinity didn't exist (in fact, they seemed deeply confused as to what the Trinity and Holy Spirit were), but that God and Jesus were literally the same individual. As in, when Jesus walked earth, he was the full and whole of God. When I told them none of the denominations I grew up with had that viewpoint, and once again indicated my curiosity toward which denomination they were part of, they (again ignoring my request for information) insisted that I was wrong, and rather angrily insisted that all denominations believed in the singular unity of Jesus and God (still no word as to what happened to the Holy Spirit, so this interpretation could be said to be.. lacking in spirit. I'm sorry.)

By that point, the back and forth between 'I'm not feeling well, please leave me alone' and 'What the devil are you even trying to peddle' wore down to the point of 'Okay, goodbye now. ' At least the more polite of the two offered a respectful goodbye at that point (though the other one was still ranting in the background..)

In any case, while it was probably a wasted effort given how dubious the individuals in question came across, I did look, and I couldn't find any Nontrinitarian denomination with the viewpoint in question. If you're aware of one, do let me know- the fact that they held on to the name of their denomination so tightly has served to make me a bit curious.. usually that's a pretty eagerly offered bit of information, after all.

In any case, just letting you all know that none of my internal organs were taken by creepy door-to-door peddlers!
Well, I mean.. not today, anyway.

Have you ever had any internal organs taken by strangers who arrived at your doorstep?

View Results
Yes, all of the organs.
I wondered where those scars came from..
They made me promise never to tell..
The only thing they took from me was my heart.
No, but I've had strangers come by to give me an organ before.
All I know is, a potato makes for an excellent substitute spleen. ..at least that's what I tell myself.
Cue ominous organ music.

I'm a cynic - Maybe they were just hoping nobody was home so they could rob the place.

Technicalities over me having had organs to begin with or not, the end result is still the same- I didn't lose anything extra by the end of the encounter. :3

Second to last paragraph. :)

The main issue is that nontrinitarianistic beliefs usually base within separating Jesus from God, to some degree, rather than knocking down the borders of the trinity to fuse them into a single absolute, non-faceted being. As I said, that was both new to me, and something I couldn't find any denominations to match, when I searched it out.

just take white paint and draw an outline of a human body outside your door, then spread a bunch of religious pamphlets
That should stop them from coming back

I like your style... Much less time-consuming than the old "But let ME tell YOU about MY religion now; I am sure you will be interested and immediately join my cult, errrm, club!"

Of course, then there's that super awkward moment when they actually do turn out to totally be up for joining your orgy cult club, and y'gotta either own up or admit your loss. :X

That seemed to match the best, but I've been under the impression that LCG simply removes the conception of the Holy Spirit as being its own a separate entity, but otherwise keeps to the same general conceptualization of the Trinity (or rather, Duality).

I'm guessing this is BL bait, but I'm posting anything ... I thought the whole One God == Holy Trinity thing was settled by a "leap of faith" and they were indeed the same thing?

I'm guessing this is BL bait,

I can't make any sense of what you're trying to say.

I thought the whole One God == Holy Trinity thing was settled by a "leap of faith" and they were indeed the same thing?

Also no idea what you're trying to say, but- Trinitarianism, a common element among all but a few denominations of modern Christianity, is the belief that Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God are all separate facets of the same being. They're all part of God, but also separate beings.
The most common alternate belief is that Christ was simply Son or Prophet to God, and not equatable to God; other belief systems remove the Holy Spirit from the Trinity, but retain that separation between the remaining two facets. A system that removes facets entirely- while still retaining the divinity of elements other than God alone- is a concept new to me; I've never encountered a denomination with that belief structure before.

Generally, the two most reliable ways to invite BLs is either to attack or demean others, or to bring up blacklists. :P
If you concern yourself with blacklists over anything else, you're just wasting your energy.

Past that, if you get blacklists for anything respectfully offered, there's not much to do about it anyway, and the users involved really aren't likely worth your consideration to begin with. Again, much better things to turn your focus toward. Like pie! Pie is always a good thing to focus on. :D

..but not my pie! Don't you even think of focusing in on my pie! >=O

I was approached by some people on the street before who talked about the Passover and about how Jesus was God himself but never clarified what religion they were part of. According to them the world is going to end and if I follow the reincarnation of God (who was apparently a Korean woman) I'll be protected and survive. I tried to ask them how "God" would help me survive, they insisted I just have to have failth, it's what make things work, like money (they seriously said that). My knowledge of any kind of religion is sketchy at best but I can still tell what those people were saying were bullshit, not sure if they were after my organs or my money though.

You may or may not have money. You probably have organs.
Organs can be sold for money.
Ergo, I think it's safe to say they were after your money.. by way of your organs.

Awkward...

I never had someone showing up at my door but i have plenty of experiences with people trying to talk to me about those things outside and it angers me tbh i think that every religion should give info at any person that alone asks for it and have a official site to further more reach others

Well, I mean, I asked them from the start to leave me be, that I wasn't feeling well enough to take visitors- but then (as they ignored me and kept talking) they got all weird with what they were saying, and I started feeling compelled to try and clarify things. :P

Honestly, in a way, still less weird than the church that came by once and told me they'd never heard of the concept of church music before (and were confused even by the concept of choirs, when I tried to bring the conversation down to a more accessible point of reference).
Needless to say, that (evidently deeply miserable) church didn't get any further attention from me.

Oh, and we've got a church that keeps leaving mail in local mailboxes telling local African-Americans that abortion is an ungodly practice that they're only tricked into thinking is acceptable due to the white man's agenda- that the white man uses abortion as a way of keeping power over African-Americans, and that they should cease abortions immediately to reclaim their right to God!

..or something like that. It was phrased pretty by-form to typical hate speech propaganda and anti-abortion propaganda both, which apparently end up resulting in a rather magnificently awful end combination.

Oh, and then there's the local cult..

In retrospect, religion is really, really ..eccentric over here. o.O;

I see where you live there is a heavy activity for such things. Also i have to mention that even tho i am not a strong believer i have questions that if a phrase them to a man of god i see they get apset for even asking and turn hostile, but in my heart religion should represent the good in people and channel it from the core and i cant say i have seen much proof that they actually even trying something like that . I wouldnt bet that religion would ever use races and a shamefull past of humanity to draw people we should all see the main point at some point we are all people and live in the same world ,
