Do you recommend Sid Meier's Civilization® V?

Hi guys,i noticed that Sid Meier's Civilization® V is only 7.5 Euro's on Steam,but i never played any game (Sid Meier's Civilization® IV,etc).Is it nice? Do people still play it? Because i've noticed that you can play online and i don't want to buy a game that doesn't have many people online.Also,what are you thoughts about it? Thank you.

Every civilization game is a great game so i'd definitely recommend it
