I am a bit unsure how to properly denote when someone is covering a non original song. IE doing a cover of a cover. saying the song is by the covering artist seems... improper. what I ended up doing is this: Cover of Dream a little Dream of Me in the style of Michael Buble Is there a better way?

I organized the list of songs grouping them by singer, while i realize this may be inconvenient for seeing new songs, it makes t easier for me to see just how many songs/singers are in the contest.

My conclusion: there are a lot of songs, I'm going to break them up into smaller groups for voting. To decide how many singers/songs per group i have a few questions.

• How many songs are you willing to listen to in one sitting?
• How many songs do you think someone else would be willing to listen to?
• If you listened to the songs slowly as they have been uploaded will you need to listen to them again before voting?

That seems to be enough for a consistence for the number of songs.
next up is the duration, currently there are 28 singers, breaking them down into groups of five gives 6 group

Idea 1: make six topics all lasting say 11 days (that's 2 week ends past the contest end)
pros:

• it gives forums stragglers the most tome to vote
• low maintenance

cons

• what is the point of slitting up the songs if you just post them all at once.

Idea 2: Make the posts back to back, each post lasting 2 days total time: 12 days
pros:

• spreads out the songs

cons:

• not everyone visits SG every day:
• possibility of a low turnout

Idea 3 hybrid plan one post a day open for 24 hours. After six days (a monday) re open all posts for 3 days for an encore so if people missed a day they can go back and vote during the encore period.
pros:

• spreads out the songs
• builds excitement

cons

• higher maintenance.

After the elimination round the winner of all groups* will be put into the final poll to decide the winner of the second karaoke contest

*in the care of ties or close contests i reserve the right to put the first and second place winner into the final contest.at my discression
