I can help out with that. I had a decent amount of practice last round I just invited people to mid their own because the last contest taught me to be lazy, I will mix anyone's tracks to the best of my ability if they like.

I can't find an option for a public folder on Mega, I can share a folder for people to download, and can invite people individually, but I can not open it to the public to upload.

In all actuality, now that I know how to strip the identity from a file on google (you make a copy) I like being able to see who owned the uploaded file. It make it easier for people to upload more then one song. After the fist song I have the google useer name associated with the steam name so I automaticly know who to credit.

It's a great app that allows you to do vocal and video recordings as well as duets/group songs as long as others have the app. It's been a while since I actually looked at it so I don't remember what is needed for VIP and what the differences are, but you can download the files after they are uploaded by going into the source code and direct posting the audio file link.
Just the first easy option that popped into my mind for Duets.

Well, maybe there are some videos of me doing so when I was younger, but speaking of recording a song - no, I yet didn't do it. Right now I have two song I want to record for the contest, one in my language, and one evergreen known from some 80s movie. I managed to get original audiotracks, I have audacity waiting for me, yet I can't manage to get decent microphone. If I won't get it till tomorrow I will just record it and submit somwhere around day before deadline. I will use mic from my webcam or will try this trick with headphones JoeMoDo suggested on my other comment.

True, and I'll try to minimise exposure to people's identities. Factors working in my favor are many peoples identities on google differing from their steamgifts names and possibly the stripping of those identifying tags. I don't expect more then a handfull of people to watch the google drive for new songs before i announce them on the thread. I hope those that do will suppress their desires to check the uploaders identities, or at the very least keep the info to them selves. No system is totally secure, last contest we had some people idle in teamspeak to see who was recording. As long as I can keep things mostly fair, and throw in some suprizes to those that enjoy peeking I think I can avoid most favortism.
If google doesn't work I'll make a change, but so far I don't think that's needed.

ok, and something just occurred me... How will you know who's the user that uploaded the file (regardless of google username etc)? There has to be some identifier that links the files to the user on SG, right?

Firstly I expect people to tell me when they upload something on google via steam chat. if for no other reason then for me to add them to the group to access the giveaways.

you have q couple options you can sign in/sign up for a google account, and upload your song here
Or if for some reason you hate google you can chose any other sight you prefer that uploads files (mega or dropbox for example) and give me a link to it over steam messaging,

I refuse to way in on this, one of the things I love about this contest is being shocked by people selections. Althigh I am kinda sad I won't hear drafts this time arround. Last contest someone preformed a cover of Rick Ashley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" that was wonderful, but they weren't happy with it so no one but me has ever herd it.

I was told google drive was a bit tricky to use so am writing a brief guide.
- if you do not have one already create a google account here.
- Activate google drive here
- visit the shared folder and add the folder to your google drive (first image)
- return to your google drive the folder should be on your left (second image below)
- goto the folder and right click to upload the song

A few things to note
First off i want to talk about naming conventions When upload a song I'd like you to name it "song-artist-VOCALS" for the vocal only submission, "song - artist-SONG" if you are uploading the song you sang to be mixed with your vocals. and "song - artist-MIX" For example if you sang "Mad World" by Gary Jules, you would upload "Mad World - Gary Jules - VOCALS" After you upload your file(s) please add me on steam, so I can add you to the giveaway group and make a list of who recorded what song.
About anonymity.It has been pointed out that google drive shows who uploaded a file. if anyone has a good work around for this please tell me, untill then I can ask people not to peek, and/or hope you google account name isn't the same as you steamgifts name.
Finally for the end up the contest i am aiming for Sept 30th, however this may change depending on circumstances.
