I started here less than a week ago, looking to sell my Destiny 2, however been having a hard time finding a buyer, do you guys have some tips on helping out a newbie in trading games?

And I am realizing how hard to trade when you have 0 rep lol.

You "go first".

I am willing to go first, but all of the people I try to trade with says they need to re-sell the game first, which makes me a paranoid lol.

They are trying to scam you because you appear to be so new and therefore gullible.

Destiny 2 is a special case because it's in the form of a keycode instead of a giftlink Humble Bundle usually generates, therefore for key resellers, it is hard to determine if a copy they bought is actually legit until it is activated and this is why almost no reseller buys that game from people with little to no rep (I see most only accept from those with +50 or up).

If it is a retrader with like 500+ positives and 0 negatives, I wouldn't be paranoid on giving it to them and waiting, but if it is like a trader with less than 100 maybe I would be better off looking for someone that wants to activate it for themselves instead.

when it comes to trading, paranoia is a good thing. if it seems off, don't make the trade
Trading can be great, but there are scammers out there. Trade with someone with a high rep, go first, and make sure you initiate contact with them - i.e. that you're truly chatting with the person you think you're chatting with. Scammers will create fake profiles that look a lot like real traders

As well you should be. Someone claiming that they need to "re-sell" your game is either trying to scam you or make a profit off of you. There's no need for a middle-man.

Also, have you looked at the Group Buys group on Steam? I think there's also a Reddit trading group, but I don't know what it's called. Those may be better options for you.

rep on steamtrades mean nothing cause u can abuse it with alt accounts

Don't use steamtrades if u want to sell it, try g2a (yeap, sounds scary)

Why it isn't? He is right: if you want to sell a game for money g2a and stuff is better than steamtrades.
The market is bigger and for you as seller it's more save.

it's hard to sell on G2A if you don't have rep, the price is unlikely to be higher, and G2A takes a cut

That would only happen if you actually sell to a reseller. Just don't do it.

Sell and trade directly, and reap the rewards that come with cutting out the middleman. There is nothing that a reseller has that you don't in that scenario.

It's not hard at all. Any game I've ever listed there sold within a few hours, and I still don't have a percentage next to my name.

why? cause "generous" traders on steamtrades give 12-14$ for Destiny EU, and then resell those keys for 20 euro?

I would have to disagree there. It's extremely easy to cross check anyone who gives a trader +rep, to see if they are legitimate trader or just an alt. In over a year of using the site, I have only seen one instance of folks fake repping themselves, but the community shut them down pretty quickly.

I have gotten fake -rep before though, but the community voting system is usually pretty quick to get that crap taken down.

Start trading with low value bundled games to build up your rep first.

You can rack up some +rep by buying stuff instead of trying to sell something at first.

Like someone said before, if you want to sell, use g2a and stuff. For trading lower your offer and only trade with higher rep people in the beginning because you will have to go first.

I built my rep by mostly selling/trading off my unwanted bundled games pretty much. Also by directly buying games other people sell. I had to go first every time of course, until I gotten enough rep to be higher than my trading partner.

If you don't have games to sell or buy, you can also go the alternative route of offering idling game services.
