So I have been going through some stuff over the last couple of weeks and since I know how much are all of you guys interested in a bitching of some random guy here on the internet I will spend a moment here with some rambling followed by a short obligatory train linked below.

So my troubles had started by the end of May when I realized that I have written down a wrong date for an essay for one of the few subjects that I had left to finish at the Uni. While I had already submitted my 50 pages long Final Thesis, a friggin 6 pages long essay was about to cause me a lot of problems. The ominous feeling that came over me the moment I found out about the missed deadline had not been wrong. Soon enough I had to face the cold hard reality which was about to give me quite a punch. The lecturer has decided to not accept my essay since I was three days too late. Considering that was my second try with the said subject I was left with no alternative, my time at the Uni was over, sadly without the desired degree. Four years of my life wasted.

Well, everything bad is good for something at least. Losing my chance at the degree (at least for the time being) I have decided to join the work process so that I won't need to leech my parents any longer (am 24 after all) and without much trouble secured for myself a job. Last three weeks I have spent working at the helpdesk in a company offering a satelite TV. I am helping the customers in trouble and registering new customers; however, I believe I can do better (the pay is not that great and the work is quite monotone) so I am still looking for a better job. Tommorow I am expecting a call from another company I have sent my CV to and been interviewed by. My position there would be much more interesting and better paid so wish me luck please. In case I get the job expect a much better train when by the Autumn sale!

Anyway if you have read everything feel free to browse my TRAIN, it is quite short and not that great but hopefully some of you will be able to find some interesting games you do not own.

TLDR: After 4 years at Uni I am now an official drop-out without achieving anything but at least managed to find myself a job and am trying to find myself an even better one. Feel free to join my little train above and you can also try your luck with the few keys listed below that did not make it into the train due to me not being sure whether they were activated or not.

PZ86Y-CW9JC-EX?EF - missing one number
H?NAB-B0ZVB-5YG27 - missing one letter (ranging between A-G)
XBAK?-9TD0A-EE8AN - missing one number
A22ID-Z?8C5-59J2W - missing one number

Update: Well, the new job did not work out and someone else who has more experience than me got it. Anyways not time to feel sad about it, just gotta try harder, keep improving and not to lose hope. Thanks for all of your support guys!

I'm sorry to hear this. Is there no chance to do the same degree at another university doing one more semester or so?

This is harsh. I understand the point of the university that rules are rules and starting to bend them may cause more harm than good. But those drop-out rules are normally for people either not qualified or people taking to long for their degree. In your case however you have submitted already your Final Thesis and proven your qualification. Also you did not fail an exam you "just" missed a deadline (although this is unexcusable). While chances are slim have you tried negotiating? Like for instance if your Final Thesis is okay you get a final chance for said subject in form of an oral or written examination? Sometimes you can convince them although it also depends on how you present your case. Bitching about the three days is not good, but apologizing and showing that you have completed the rest may help.
Other than that you can like Klinge said look for another university or another degree which is similar. In both cases there is a chance that courses you've taken will be accepted and you can finish it pretty fast.

Sadly I have not been on a good terms with the said lecturer to begin with so no amount of pleading had moved her. Anyways as much as I felt sorry about losing all of my progress I have already moved on. I might try the same programme at an different University if I feel like doing so (let's see how far I can get during the 10 months that are left between now and the time when I can sign in on an University again).

It sucks that it worked out that way for you, but I'm sure you'll get things straightened out. Some of us simply don't finish university. I went for 3 years, but left because I didn't really feel like I was working towards a degree in anything, despite enjoying the classes.

Good luck for the future. Just because it looks bleak now doesn't mean things can't or won't pick up. Often failing something leads to you doing something else you'd never thought of (and you might even enjoy it)

Really sorry to hear that man. Like the first person posted, couldn't they have let you redo the course again for one more semester? Best of luck on the possible new job.

My education never got me my job, and I am thinking it was pointless.

You are not joking? can't you complain?
one course and not finishing is a pain... i know that if you "shout" loud enough you can get your diploma. you will need to do something.
the lecturer is a pain in the ass and should be kicked.

i'm up for submitting on time, but you should get points off for being late.

Can't you file a request for some kind of exception or something? Or maybe applying again with having all your finished courses recognized as finished?

Been there, done that.

Do not think of it as "then end." With more experience, you will understand that many things in life are temporary setbacks. In my case, I went back to school when I was 35 years old, and finished my Bachelor's. Then, I finished my Master's. During the time I have been working, I have been laid off more times than I can count, and three times in a two-year period. The economy in my country has crashed multiple times, forcing me to change my career. (I am now on my third one.) If nothing else, I've learned that the only way to fail is to stop trying.

When one door closes, another one opens. If you have difficulty seeing which path to take next, consult your elders. They have the experience and wisdom to deal with whatever challenges life throws your way.
