Dear SteamGifts,

I trust you guys more then I trust the guys after computer forums.. I narrowed down to what PC I want.. except I conflicted on the model.

So, can someone explain to me what the difference in each other of these models are? I'd greatly appreciate it!

This is the one I am planning on getting..
Sony VAIO Fit/Flip 15A

and, these are the other two models that are more expensive.. but what is the difference in hardware or software that is such a price bump??

Model 2

Model 3

Are they all the same hardware? I see one has more ram 16(gb) vs 8gb but I don't see any other differences? or am I just blind??

Need answers pretty urgently as purchasing it later tonight ^.^
Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!

and a Giveaway for the helpers!

Thank you! Looking more into it seems even the cheap one has Dual Array Microphones, SSD Hybrid. only things it seems to be missing is software, intel idpt, onsite/inhome service, international service, and well the software and a bigger display.. I prefer smaller ones even 1980x1080 is to big for me.. I came from 1024x768 and was happy with that lmao!

The max resolution for the two expensive ones have 4096 x 2160 (normally 2880 x 1620) while the cheaper one only supports up to 1920 x 1080 even when connected via HDMI.

what is your main purpose of use? these all seem too exspenive to me but i always build my own so i guess thats why. still 1200+for the cheapest one wow

the difference is mainly the resolution of the cheaper one to the others and some software included you may not need.

Gaming.. and touchscreen rofl.

if the touchscreen thing is a just a want and not a need i would reconsider. that feature alone is gonna drive ur price up and take away from gaming, as in you culd spend the same amount for a better hardware withou tthe touchscreen. if you dont have to be mobile then i HIGHLY suggest a desktop. gaming desktop gonna be much better and can actually be upgraded, while a laptop cannot....90% of the time at least

Aye, Unfortunately.. my job requires traveling a lot so a laptop is a must.. and touchscreen wise.. I do graphic design and 3D modeling in my spare time.. and even though it won't render things as fast the Active touch stylus display is what is making me like it..

hmm for gaming i would not buy any of those. hardcore gamer would also never buy a laptop for gaming :)

I don't play most of my games on High.. But, the Sony VAIO laptop I am using right now(although it is burned out keeps shutting off every 20minutes) is 7 years old and it can play bioshock infinite on high with 34 FPS.. skyrim at 60 on high. I did a comparison between that computers graphic card and the one in this VAIO it's graphic card is 87% better.. the integrated graphics in that laptop alone is 24% better then this laptops dedicated.. I mean.. I don't do "hardcore" gaming like ARMA 3 at Ultra settings. But, just being able to run Civ 5, Assassins creed, Crysis, Bioshock at medium is good enough for me :D

I think you should stick to the fit 15A because the other one has really high resolution and the graphics card isn't really good for gaming at resolution as high as that.

Edit: Or get the razer blade

I actually ordered the Edge and returned it.. because it seems that Razer abandons there systems..at least they did with the Edge and it was only a year old. I haven't tried the blade.. but I was really looking for the flatdown touchscreen.

Also, regarding the res.. is the a way to downgrade it to say 1600x900 instead of 1920x1080? I am not a fan of all these 1080p/4k screensizes we are going too lol

Is there particular reason why you would want a laptop over a desktop computer?

Mobility(my job travels a hella-lot), Weight, Touchscreen, All-in-1(not having to buy a display, a keyboard, speakers, etc..)

I feel that touchscreen is just a gimmick that should be left for phones. Though the mouse and keyboards are atrocious on laptops, but that is because they generally aren't good.

I would probably go for this amazon link. Though I have no idea of what kind of work you are doing. Does it require you to use specific software, like Photoshop, Sony Vegas or something of that nature?

Yep! And, another factor I forgot to mention is weight.. 5.8 vs 11.2 almost double x_X Although I do love MSI :P

I don't see how weight is an issue. It's going to sit on a table or on your lap when in use and in the bag when you're carrying it around.

So what exactly are you looking for in a laptop? And what kind of work are you doing?

Honestly, I'd advise to just avoid Sony. Sony tends to overprice for computers and their stuff isn't of a high enough quality to be worth it. That and most people I know who have had a Sony laptop have had issues with it within warranty and keep having issues even after repair.

I agree with the overpricing. Although, Sony and Razer were the only two companies that seem to have produced a Touchscreen laptop that has a dedicated gfx card.. and I did buy the Razer and had to return it as Razer completely abandoned the "Edge" line of there pcs...

As far as quality and not much durability.. the one I am on just broke down..has been shutting off every 10/ 20 minutes and not rebooting till it cool's down. But, it has been a gaming powerhouse.. it was hella heavy and had less specs then the one I am buying now. But, it lasted 7 years of continuous running.. maybe, I was just lucky? But, never ever contacted support once for my entire warrenty on the last(this one) laptop. and, it's Sony VAIO F series.

You should avoid Sony PC products. Sony has decided to shut down their PC department which means that getting your laptop serviced will be next to impossible since their customer service will be gone for their Vaio line. Also Sony laptops has been notoriously annoying when replacing batteries where you cannot use a generic battery to power your pc, but you have to use Sony batteries for your laptop to work properly.

I heard about the pc shutdown in there vaio department.. but AFAIK they said they will continue to honor updates and warrentys for the next 3 years on there pc's. Razer however, completely abandoned there Edge line which was the only Razer system I was interested in

Vaio, Acer, HP ==> BAD, escape from then

Asus, Lenovo, MSI ==> Good

Also
desktop>>>>>>notebook>>Ultrabook>>>>>>>Flip PC (or whatever)

All that vaio have a decent CPU, and a decent GPU (good for less expensive PC...) but...are very very expensive...

If I were you, I would buy another type of notebook

If any, the cheapest one seems quite good, and obviously it's cheaper. But really, it's still quite expensive.
