Good nuff for entry level. I'd suggest going for an APU instead of a CPU with AMD on the low end, since the APU's crossfire with GPU's over the motherboard. More performance for low end machines.

if you're going to get a 7850, get a 270x instead. It's a rebranded 7850 with some minor positive tweaks. Also, if you're not going to do an APU, low tier Intel is still better than mid tier AMD on the processor side. Id suggest a ivy/haswell i3 or even a non-overclockable i5 if you can push it. I hate to use the words "future proof" but if you get an overclockable i5 you should be some what future proof for at least the next 5 years.

The idea is always make it as easy as possible to upgrade later. As long as he has an LGA socket he can upgrade to a better CPU later that performs better in most scenarios than any AMD processor. If he wanted a lower tier GPU, an APU would be more appropriate. If he was on a strict budget I'd say low or mid tier FX CPU and a 270 for the most bang for his buck. He wants to set himself up for upgrading if possible. Nobody wants to keep a crappy dual core that bottlenecks their GPU.

If you can get a stronger GPU, go for it. Something like 7850++ or R9 270x or better would be great. Also what monitor size and resolution are you playing on?

I'm still deciding between a 7790 and a 7850. The last thing I will buy is my GPU, so I'll probably decide then whether to just buy a 7790, or to save a bit more to get a 7850.
EDIT: My monitor is the Compaq s2022a, which is 20 inches and has a resolution of 16:9

I would go with a Pentium G3420 and a cheap ssd and then maybe 750gb instead of 1TB.

Then I would need to change motherboards to use a Pentium, and I love the one I'm using. Since I've never used an SSD, I haven't experience their speed, so it's not like I'm in a hurry to buy one because I can't live without it. And 1 TB is good enough if I wanna keep this for a decent while.

Well if he's not going to overclock it the stock one is fine, maybe change the thermal grease (i'm using right now the Arctic MX-4, not too expensive and do his job).
For the ssd: depends on the price, but is better point to a good HDD like a 1TB WD Caviar Black or Red (unless he can afford a Samsung 840 Evo/Pro or an OCZ).

You should go for this model of the Caviar Blue instead, it's newer, faster, and cheaper.
Any reason for that particular RAM? There are numerous cheaper options.
The Antec One is the same price as the case you've picked but comes with front panel USB 3.0 too.
As an aside, I hate the price graphs on PCPP now, they look a right clusterf...

It does but I think you had the standard version of the Source 210 linked instead. The Antec One's a good case though and it's $15 cheaper than the 210 Elite right now.
The RAM I linked is every 2x4GB set sorted by price. You can even get the flashy Avexir Core series with LEDs for slightly cheaper if you're into that (I'm a sucker for that sort of thing and if it was that price relative to everything else over here in the UK, I'd totally go for it. Alas, we have to pay a premium for such excesses T_T).

Perfectly fine CPU for today's games, but you'll feel deprived when playing CPU-intensive games. Not that there are that many even today, but the issue may become highly visible in the future. Your motherboard can support AMD's 8-core CPUs however, so an upgrade path exists should you feel the need.
Stock coolers are perfect if you won't be overclocking. If you're running at stock, skip the third party cooler unless the CPU doesn't come with a cooler.
Consider that the NZXT Source 220 is only 5 USD higher, and includes front USB 3.0 ports. Your motherboard has on-board USB 3.0 headers, which will only run at 2.0 speeds if plugged into USB 2.0 cables.
Most of the time, you can get 1x8GB RAM for less than 2x4GB. The boost from running dual channel mode isn't that much.
Overall, a great selection of parts with minimal potential issues.

Updated the list- Upgraded GPU from Asus 1 GB 7790 to MSI Twin Frozr 2 GB 7850, removed CPU cooler, might get one once I actually make the build. And I added what I own. The accessories and stuff aren't high priority for me, but still tell me what upgrades to get and stuff
