So today I got bored and decided to be a useful member of the community once again. I created 2 giveaways of Humble Bundle games that I don't need. Good karma, right?
Nope! Few hours after that, my tablet decided to f*ck with me and it just reset itself to factory settings for no damn reason. All I have is a basic Google backup containing my contacts and calendar. Music, pictures, apps, files, everything else is gone...

People are divided into 2 kinds.
The first kind are people who make backup copies.
The second one are people who will make backup copies.

Well, I made one. The useless Google backup that's only good for e-mails and apps. And before you ask, I know I can synchronize my pictures and stuff as well, but... it's in the name. "MY" pictures, not Google's

Yeah, but you could always made a "traditional" backup, you know, plug phone to PC copy pics, music and stuff.

I actually have my music backed up, and I use Spotify as well. But some things I just didn't save. Yeah, I know. I'm stupid. But if my idiot tablet didn't mess up, I wouldn't need a backup

That's also true. Actually I think I need to make a backup myself... I'm using iPhone after all so I never know when it'll go to shit.

If it isn't really important, don't make a backup. Like cleaning house by dumping everything :)

Well, he said there were pix, music, apps, stuff like that, so I guess that's pretty important if there are medium/large amounts of that.

My reply was sarcasm. But most people don't backup their stuff regularly and then wonder when it's gone. I'm guilty of that too sometimes ;)

The third are the ones who used to keep backups.

maybe your tablet was infected with some nasty virus/malware? and reset saved your precious data from going to scammers? ;p

You'll make some people happy. That counters your bad luck. :)

Sorry to hear about it.
But hey, as Eric Draven once said: "Can't rain all the time..."

Sorry to hear, but hard resets don't even touch the SD card. Does your tablet support them? If so maybe you should get one just in case, they're relatively cheap.
