EU1 doesn't have region lock yet, right? We can still gift to everyone. Also, people can gift games from nuuvem/amazon/gamersgate/gmg/humble store.

The site update is going to be implemented over the next week, and will be removing CV as it is, replacing it with a different system.

CV is stupidly overrated. The only thing it tells us is how much games can the person in question afford to buy ;)

Not really. It's a measure (albeit a somewhat flawed one) of how many games they were PREPARED to GIVE AWAY, and that's an entirely different thing...

It is wonderful. The CV system was highly flawed, became more about people looking for any way to exploit it, and took too much effort to "police". Not that it really matters to me though. I'm like a ghost around here and for the most part stopped coming here for giveaways several months ago (it was not a good use of my time).

I hope whatever new system takes place values better the contribution of the users but doesn't split the community too much.

Well as far as things go, it'd be mainly those who buy from US (which is region lock free in general though some AAA games are likely locked) sale stuff, and bundles.

In last weeks Steam made a lot of (maybe all) games region locked (RU, EU, NA, SA, Asia...)
I think it will be impossible to have games that are not restricted to any zone soon. Only bundle games will not be.
But then maximum CV for new people would be just $30.00, because they can not give any unrestricted games.
What do you think?
